I paid for item by direct debit, seller was very pushy bout instant payment. Had to be NOW. Sent copy of receipt via text message to his phone. Found seller very evasive, rude, arrogant wen i asked too many question about the item for sale after i had paid. Got my item in box, some of the contents he gave me, 2 pieces of contents were not there in the box. Questioned y give me some but not the rest. Wasnt logical or rational. Every question i asked was met with, how is that relevant, or, im within ebay guidelines, or how do u know i have those extra contents. Kept my cool through all of it. Was really hard to hav a proper conversation. This has never happened to me b4. All sellers i have met on ebay have been respectful towards me. This was nothing like respectful, the complete opposite. Was not used to this type of wat ever u call it dialog with a seller. Was a bit concerned about the manipulation i was getting involved in. It was not normal, far from it. I found there was something wrong, i became concerned the way the seller was acting. I found a very dark personality, almost twisted. I was answering his questions, but after the last, how is that relevant, i decided this game was over and asked if he was ok. His response, r u a retard? I looked at wat i was reading, then, after a pause, i wrote, no, yr not ok. Wat he text back to me was shocking, i was stunned. His reply, So would you just "F" off d-umb "C". Hav all proof on my phone, not going to upload a picture of it. Im still in shock. To make matters worse, he is not telling ebay i have paid for the item. So ebay think i havnt paid, wen i have. Told customer support to look at all my sent messages. Photos of receipt from bank i sent to him. Have reported him, have reported i have paid for item. Question, is seller violating any ebay policies by not telling ebay i have paid for item. Coz if he is, i can notify him of that. I have already asked him to tell ebay, but, its not happening, if he is violating any rulles by not notifying them, i can tell him that, and maybe he will tell ebay. Would appreciate all responses

The thing was, i was very concerned for him.
I knew there was something wrong. A man doesnt get that violently angry with words like that for no reason.
Whatever pressure he was under was really showing. I could see it unravelling b4 my eyes.
I actually felt sorry for him, coz watever is going on, he could of been alot calmer than he was.
He was under extreme pressure. Could be a reason behind why he was so angry.
Maybe i was being to personal with him.
I let him know something wasnt right. By being that personal just set him way off course.
It was the words he used that shocked. I thought to myself, i see you. I know u r under extreme pressure, but why.
Whatever he owes or is doing, i dont think he is handling it very well.
Think i just got too personal by saying, what is wrong with you, r u ok?
Bang, that was it. Now ive done it, i thought.
You never know whats going on in a persons life.
What he is doing, dont think he likes doing it.
An angry man, is angry for a reason. Me being too personal was not good.
I got too close. Obviously, by showing concern.
I actually feel sorry for him.
No one should be under that much pressure in their lives.
It damages the mind, body and spirit of a person.
Whatever has happened, it has gone too far and he is not coping.
He is just not coping.

His state of mind is really none of your business. Nor is your assessment necessarily correct.
Give it a rest. You seem to have received what you ordered. That that was not what was expected is entirely YOUR issue.
I thought you left days ago. If you are going to continue to project your feelings onto the seller, then maybe online trading is not for you.
If a buyer of mine got what they bought and then bombarded me with irrelevant messages, I might get a tad terse. Even terser than here.

Good lord, my head hurts after reading this thread. If I had a buyer trying to get into my head and counsel me, I'd be mighty pished off. I would get super angry too if they kept hounding me half to death.
The seller's mental health has ZERO to do with you. I don't blame him for going off his nut at you. Clearly you got what your ordered, leave the poor man alone, for the love of God. Otherwise you might find YOU are reported to the police for harrassment. Remember, the seller has your address.

A lot of sellers are only interested in completing a transaction as quickly as possible.
They do not want a penfriend or social contact other than what is necessary to sell and deliver the item.
Frankly it is not your place to enquire if anyone is OK or if they are handling things.
We are anonymous for a reason. Sometimes we choose to get closer to other members but it is not done by forcing ourselves on them.
If you want information about accessories for your camera it is best to go to a camera store, not ask a private seller on ebay who may or may not be familiar with the range available.

On a slightly different note, and just as a point of interest, I have been expoloring the seller's listings and while I think in this particular case there may have been issues on both sides that escalated the situation, I noticed that the seller does not offer PayPal in the traditional way, and in fact somehow does not offer a safe payment method at all.
They have:
Bank deposit
Other [Card (over phone / in person only, as eBay does not support online card payment without PayPal being offered)]
Cash on pick-up
The items are listed in the correct categories where a safe payment method is required, so I am very curious as to how they were able to list this way.
Even more interestingly, they have at least one listing where they've uploaded a PayPal QR code in the images for people wanting to pay that way. (Buyers can scan the code on their phone, enter the payment amount, and send). This avoids eBay checkout, and fees (this payment method currently attracts 0 PayPal fees for the seller, until the end of December, and less than 1% after).
I'm not sure what the deal is, seller may just be gaming the system for a fee advantage and does everything else "by the book"..... But I can't help but notice all of the payment methods they offer avoid eBay checkout, and thus (theoretically) allow them to open UPIs for any problematic transactions, too.

@buyingandsellingmandy wrote:Yes, im not going to bother bout the stuff thats missing.
Im going to get the camera checked next week at Teds Camera store.
Their the only Camera store near me. At Fountain Gate xmas time. Im actually dreading it. Fountain Gate is worse than Chadstone at xmas.
Teds also has the extra stuff i need to buy. Memory card, lens cap and usb cable.
Going to cost a bit to get the Nikon brand, but, i want to. So the camera ends up costing me more than $220 i paid for it.
This seller was strange from the beginning. The way he spoke to me was always evasive, never answering any of my questions.
Even when i asked, wats the best memory card to get, he said, any. He made out he was a photographer. I said, what would u recommend, all sorts. I said, personally what would you buy, watever. I never got a straight answer.
He was grumpy in the start, i sort of laughed it off as a joke, he didnt like that at all. I said to him, your very business like, coz he seemed tense with my questions. Almost rude.
I thought, woow, this is way out of control.
The rest is history. This was way too disturbing for me. Mentally violently disturbing.
I know exactly what Fountain Gate is like at Christmas time! I live near there too.
If you get there before 9.30am on one of the weekday mornings (preferably Mon, Tues), you will most likely be able to get a parking spot. Good luck.
I've read the post by Digital Ghost. It sounds to me as if the seller you were dealing with is trying a few dodgy practices, most likely to cut down on fees. I had not heard of the methods DG mentioned.
The thing is, this seller did supply the camera, so he seems to be a legitimate seller.
But he may be wary of any buyer with problems because he wouldn't want his transactions coming under the microscope by ebay.
Don't feel upset about him not wanting to engage in conversation, some sellers just want a quick transaction and no hassles. His temper is not your worry.
I am wondering if, given DG's summary of what he is doing in his listings, if it could be worth your while reporting him or mentioning his methods specifically in ebay chat. Maybe write down exactly what DG said so you can explain it, as if they realise a seller is managing to sell things technically without going through ebay and paying fees, that should grab their attention straight away.
You were after information about policy violations. He isn't violating policy by not reporting a direct debit payment but I'd say he is if he is avoiding offering a safe payment method and selling off ebay. Well worth you reporting it as ebay may put a stop to it and at least you'd make it safer for other buyers.

Understand exactly wat u mean, now. After several tries using my ebay email address i couldnt get thru. I would always get a reply, u have sent to the wrong adress.
This is strange, because, with my gmail, i actually got a response saying, thanks for contacting us, although slow, we will reply in 72 hours to yr email, etc, etc. A normal reply back you would expect. All the bla bla bla u would expect.
Im going, wow, it actually got thru, finally.
Then 5 mins later, another email, u sent it to the wrong email address.
Im going, oh no u dont, it got thru, u got it.
Before all this happened i was chatting with billing. I explained, i cant get thru to customer help.
She sent me a test email, to activate my ebay email address, bang, it worked, i got a reply, hi, how are you, can i help you today with anything. I said, yes, im going to send you an email.
Sent my email, reply, wrong address, again.
I give up. But, i did get thru, just that one time. There is something very wrong with the set up, technical problems with their email address, and they dont seem to be bothered to fix it.
So many things are wrong, and their not bothered to fix anything. Im glad i got thru that one time, it sneaked in, just. Its sneaked in to someone in customer help, into some in box, somewhere. 5 mins b4 i got a rejection notice. 5 mins is a long time in a computers time line.
So, sometimes u get them, very very rarely. So many times you dont. An email that get in, i dont think can be rejected back out after 5 mins.
The rejection is an automated response back to an email. And the one that got in is the same. Its a technical issue. They need a computer analyst to get in there and fix it.
Im not the first to have to proove a case of payment. There must be heaps of people frustrated out of their skulls out there.
It shouldnt be this hard. By now my case should be closed.
The receipt i sent is serviced by osko from my online bank, it comes in 2 parts together, very hard to fake an Osko serviced shared receipt. Osko trademarks, just not a normal receipt. The two parts are locked together.
One very different from the other. All the lettering, numbers, everything is different, one darker than the other part. Different colours. Different sizes and shapes in letters and numbers. Highlighting is different.
Im sure Osko would not put their reputation at risk for it to be faked, the bank would scrap the service straight away. Im pretty sure Osko would change the design on a regular basis anyway, so they stay ahead of those who try to fake their design.
This has been one big massive learning curve for me, coz, as i said b4, ive paid by direct debit so many times, never, ever had a problem at all.
Never had a problem with a seller, ever. Everyone ive dealt with have been wonderful, friendly, more than happy to help with any question i have asked. They have been respectful, cheerful, normal people.
If i question something, no problem, they explain. Never come across a grumpy, difficult or rude, abrupt, annoyed seller in my time on ebay.
But this hasnt been an ordinary year for alot of people and online shopping has been big for the whole world. People order goods that never arrive, some even look like online stores.
Anyway, its been a learning curve, thats for sure.

Good news, all fixed.
Case now closed.
Finally.

Thanks to everyones insight and help, and understanding.
The description on the item was only several lines. There was no description about what was included and what was not included. Which sparked my questions to the seller bout what i received and didnt receive.
That annoyed the seller.
Seller was also selling items to go with the camera, which sparked another question that annoyed him.
Do i have to buy the cap and cable to go with the camera seperately.
The batteries i received with the camera were the wrong ones, not recommended in the manual.
The lens cap, usb cable, batteries, i had to buy seperately. Cap and cable, got the genuine nikon to go with camera. Expensive little devils, but happy i got them.
Thanks to ebay for finally acknowledging i had paid for the item.

Who is this DG. Is he on this ebay community as well, coz if he is, i will let ebay know that too. I did see one post saying i got what i ordered, if that him, he can read my recent post.
Several ines does not make up a clear description of what you are selling, especially wen u dont indicate exactly what u are and are not selling.
Also, wont repeat it. He swore and called me terrible names. Like the worst a female can get. That is not on.
Thanks for all your information about this seller, i will contact ebay again about this seller. He is not going to get away with this with other buyers.
Ebay should just ban his dodgy practices for good.
