Is there a central website to name and shame fraudulent sellers?

The number of people selling fakes on ebay is increasing, especially in the postage stamp and coin area.

Ebay will do nothing.  They have probably been overwhelmed.

Law enforcement will do nothing except advise "don't buy from them".

But how to know who they are is a problem.

Is there a cenral register of frauds that we can look up?

Self help is the only option left.

Yes, a member accused a seller of selling stolen goods...gave an email address.

currency if in circulation is a matter the RBA for notes and RAM (for coins) and police will pursue as it falls under fraud. But you will have to do the hard detective work of buying the item and then telling them you found this in circulation, whether be loose change or currency handed out from a store etc, or purchased online as genuine.

Pre decimal currency don't think the authorities care as much as they are mainly faked from overseas or faked many decades ago.

There was once a website or place where record colectors could put up info about crooked dealers and bad graders. I have mixed feelings about this. Yes there are some lying crooks out there plus those who use the "I wish" grading system. Problem is that it can be abused,

Exactly, 4channel. Without an independent investigative process to prevent the misuse of a "central register of frauds", it could potentially damage the innocent and play into the hands of vindictive people, mistaken people, or people trying to preempt their own names from going onto such a register.

Yes, there's no easy way to do it. Even though I have come across and dealt with of the most some dishonest thieves and been totally ripped off, there will be those who would damage the reputation of an innocent seller. So it can't really be done.  I once dealt with an overseas seller on another site. She incorrectly graded an item and charged me nearly double the postage, later saying that the postage charge is more than the stamp value. No registration, no insurance etc, just that there are hidden charges.  An invisible charge if you like. The item arrived and it was only VG instead of the excellent plus she advertised it as. She offered a compensation item which was autographed. I said OK. I waited and I got the item in tatty condition and not autographed as she stated. Ha! my extra I paid for the postage first time around paid for the postage of the tatty item.  I noticed later on she sold the autographed item on another site. So I put in netagive feedback and an explanation about the experience. She just later deleted her ID and started up as a new ID.  One of the most dishonest sellers I have dealt with.  I came across a name and shame site / message board (Or whatever it was) for naming crooked record dealers, but chose not to be involved.

Even though I have been straight up ripped off by some devious sellers or sellers who refuse to take responsibility for their mistakes due to pride or laziness etc, I have seen some buyers who have been really totally screwed and they have my sympathy.

One thing is, and I have to remember to do it every time is go through the feedback, even the positive ones to see iff there's any give away. One positive feedback I saw was  ...  "all good but seller a bit too optimistic with his grading".  Stuff like that is good to take note of.
