Item has been 'removed' now I need to return it - it is broken

I am finding it hard to return an item - because it has now been 'removed' -that is - the Item number is no longer valid.

Open the dispute in paypal....the transaction will still be there even if it has been removed from ebay.

Before you open it, make sure that you join up to the paypal promotion whereby they will pay the return postage otherwise you will find yourself having to pay from your own pocket.

How long ago was the purchase?

Was recent or some time ago?

You have 180 days to open the dispute via paypal.

Thanks - good idea. I have tried contacting the seller directly - i'll give them a day to reply.

Literally a week ago - just picked it up today!

If you picked it up you don't have much hope of getting your money back, none at all if you paid cash.

With pick up you are meant to inspect and/or test things out before you pay and if all is not as it shoulld be you walk away.

OP could have picked up from PO.

And besides PayPal now give protection on pick up items. (NEW)
