When your item didn't arrive by a certain date, did you actually attempt to contact the seller first or did you go straight to opening a case?
Also when you received the tracking number, did you contact the seller to let them know that perhaps the number they supplied is incorrect? Are you actually going to let the seller know this?
Sounds like you've gone straight to opening a case rather than first letting the seller know you hadn't received the item !!!

ebay gives dates for arrival times and give you the option to make claim if item not arrived by that date.
Doesn't matter wether I contacted the seller or not before opening case by opening the case is contacting the seller and allowing ebay oversee th contact made and replied to.
The question is lack of tracking number before case is opened and the tracking number supplied after case opened is totaly different suburb to the shipping address on the order.

If the seller supplies a tracking number the seller will win the dispute, especially if the tracking shows that the item was delivered.
If you had handled it differently you might have won. As it is the dispute will probably be closed by ebay in the seller's favour and you will have an almighty fight to get it reopened.
Just because ebay gives you the option to open a dispute, it does not mean it is the first action to take.

There you go with your comments you just confirm the loop hole the seller is using by supplying a non legit tracking number.
And if your a seller I would never purchase from you.
Its nice to have confirmation about this scam and others see that this could happen to them ๐

All your questions may have been answered & incorrect tracking number rectified if you had simply contacted the seller first. However, thank you for your opening post.

I will add that eBay delivery estimates are just that - ESTIMATES.
And don't normally include Public Holidays or Australia Post's own estimates.
So, by all means ring eBay, but it seems you are a buyer who many sellers wouldn't want to deal with anyway. If, as you have stated, your first point of contact is a dispute, which can damage a seller's standing and ability to sell. An email, at least, would be more likely to get a response. Once you've trashed a seller by opening a dispute there is little incentive for them to try to help you with the issue.
Lyndal, btw, is a buyer only, but a lot of us are sellers who you won't be troubled buying from. Not counting the non-posting lurkers.

seller never gave tracking number untill claim.
when number was given was another suburb to mine and delivery address.
you say as long as they provide tracking number and its delivered buyer will never win...
that not good for any buyer. shows the buyer protection is false and false adertisement cause I never received or signed for it and now will not receive refund. Seller wins and ebay wins while buyer looses.
