Item not received - from <Removed>

Hello All,

I'm having a grumble here about an item - 3 kg of organic turmeric to be precise - that was bought from <Removed> and has not been received.  Ordered on June 18 but wishing to be fair to the seller we waited and waited for the item to turn up.  Checked the tracking number with our local post office only to be told it wasn't an Australian number.  Have emailed <Removed> a number of times and apparently they can't read as no response to any email.

I've been in touch with ebay customer service who have referred me to Paypal disputes but I'm beginning to think that <Removed> is $34 (and four cents!) better off while we're that amount worse off. 

<Removed> is the first buyer we've dealt with on ebay to not deliver and not respond to emails. 

Oh well, grumble over!

Why would anyone need that much turmeric,  unless you run an Indian restaurant?

It's a very good pain reliever for chronic pain (back issues, women's issues). It's also very good for people undergoing radiation therapy on their head and neck as it helps prevent mouth ulcers and other issues that can occur in the mouth from it being burned by the radiation. It can be mixed with water and slooshed around the mouth several times a day.

It's one of the more beneficial "alternative" therapies and often if you go to the local chemist wanting pain killers, they will suggest trying Turmeric.

Nope!  Are you serious?   I've got back pain.   Chemist didn't say anything about it.

But how much do you use with water?   3 kg would go a long way.

Ebay buyer protection only applies if you have paid with Paypal or a credit card direct. With Paypal you have buyer protection for up to 180 days after you make the payment.  Paypal is being used by more and more on line companies, in the UK I would say I pay for at least 60% of all on line items using it. In Australia I will us it with any company that offers it, it saves all the time of having to fill in credit card details every time you buy anything.

I have had Paypal accounts for more years than I can count and have never had anyy problems and have never lost any money as I would have done had I paid using bank deposit. The only time I would ever pay for an ebay item without Paypal is if it was pick up or it was a low value item from a seller Ihad bought from many times before.

You say you bought another 4 items that arrived safely, that means out of your last 5 buys you lost out on 20%. Had you used Paypal that would have been 0%.

Not protecting yourself because you know of one person who had a problem with Paypal is very short sighted IMO.

Shall look into PayPal again, Padi.0409 (got those number the right way round this time!).  In the meantime we got in touch with the bank who put a temporary credit through which if not challenged by the seller within 45 days, then becomes permanent.

LOL!  No, we don't own an Indian restaurant or any other restaurant for that matter!  Three k's will go into two extra large jars so it's easy to store and the more you get, the cheaper it is.   

If you have the time, look up the health benefits of turmeric (organic of course!) ... you'll be surprised at what this plant can do for you.

My other half has a painful knee which over-the-counter products were doing nothing for so I looked around the 'net and came up with ginger. That's doing the trick!   Another person I know is using pawpaw cream on a bad knee and is happy with the resujlts.

Thanks for your comments and as mentioned before, we'll look into PayPal.  We've been buying off ebay for I don't know, perhaps getting on for ten years, with no problems except for this one.  All in all we've done very well!
