Just want to vent....

..... I won an item in Victoria on Saturday 2nd March. (I am NSW)
Seller emailed me to request payment on Monday 4th March. (at that stage, i hadnt realised i had won it as I hadnt been on the internet over the weekend, and i had placed one bid on this item a few days before)
a tad suprised by the seller demands, but obliged and paid immediately via paypal on 4th March.

On Sunday, the 10th March, I noticed the item in my *purchased* history is still unmarked as posted... so i emailed seller and asked if they could tell me when they posted it as it wasnt marked as such. (i know that not everybody marks items as posted thropugh the ebay system, so I just wanted to double check)

She replies on the same day with appologies that she had her parents staying over, and she FORGOT to post my item!... then she says that Monday (yesterday) is a P/H, so she will post Tuesday (today).

Im like....   WTF!

Im really annoyed.
Im REALLY REALLY annoyed!
I opened an item not received case today. I know it will be posted, and i hope it will eventually arrive... but to simply *forget* to post, after 6 days of having my money, then im sorry, but case open it is!

(delivery handeling time-within 3 days of cleared payment)

Sorry.... just had to rant.

cheers...

🙂

Jane didn't forget to pay, she didn't realise she had won the item!

She won the item on Saturday evening and seller sent her an email asking for payment, which Jane obliged with on Monday morning. Don't you think that's a little impatient?

Then, after making a request for payment "forgets" to post the item. I think that's pretty rude.

everybody seems to assume that the seller send the request to pay, I DO NOT think so  ebay sends reminder on day 2.

Re: Just want to vent....

Hi jane..

I am one of those buyers who is not fussed with having to wait for the parcel, kinda used to it!

The worst case I had on Ebay was with a very famous Australian designer who had a store on Ebay (didn't look to see if they are still here).

They had TONS of negs, quite shocking really, but I thought, OK, what's the worst it can happen - lets do this.

Bought the dress and waited and waited .... and waited - on the end I thought I better check before my 45 days is up.

Got the answer finally on a third message to say, they are terribly sorry "Your order was somehow misplaced and due to the length of time in between the stock sold out!"

They gave me a refund claim number, fair enough, but it was a slow process - it was still about 3 weeks before I got the refund.

As I wasn't particularly traumatised by the experience I didn't leave them a neg, didn't leave any f/back

Re: Just want to vent....

Jane says the seller emailed her. Unless I find out otherwise I accept her word for it. I find it strange that so many people want to defend the seller who is in the wrong even if it is because of their bad memory or incompetence.

Re: Just want to vent....

The seller is just a casual seller who sold 6 items in the past 6 months; all the FB is for pick up items.  It is quite understandable that posting the one item could slip her mind if she was busy.  Ordinary people just selling some unwanted possessions generally fail to grasp the importance of posting item the moment they get their money.  The seller may not have even noticed the payment notice.

If I was really angry about the transaction I probably would not leave her FB at all.

According to Jane's post: Seller emailed me to request payment on Monday 4th March

Which is day 3 of item being won

Re: Just want to vent....

super nova...  the email was from the seller... not the ebay generated one.

Anyway, still no response to the INR i opened yesterday, nor any email from the seller confirming that she has posted the item yesterday...like she said she would!

Im not holding my breath on this one.

If item hasnt turned up in 10days, then i will continue with the INR.

Re: Just want to vent....

The seller needs to become used to selling and take it seriously. Although she is inexperienced I don't usually make excuses for people I don't know.

Re: Just want to vent....

I wonder how some sellers would react if one of their buyers"Forgot" to pay.

Of course, the advice given would be to open a NPB dispute wouldn't it?

Re: Just want to vent....

Yes, you do have every right to open an INR dispute, but why?:|  You chased her up on the delivery and she told you when she would be posting it; you still have plenty of time before and INR needs to be opened.

I'm not defending the seller, and I would be miffed if one took six days or so to post my item because she "forgot", however I still wouldn't open and INR for another week.  As a casual seller I would show some leniency and leave positive feedback, however I would ding her stars for communication (because I had to chase her) and for postage time (because she forgot).
