Missing item - eBay not taking the responsibility

Hi,

I purchased an item that was never delivered to me. The concierge in our building never signed for the item and it was never delivered to me. I reported this to eBay, and they refused to take the responsibility even though the item is covered by eBay Money Back Guarantee. I appealed the decision, and they held their original decision because the seller *(based in Canada) believes that the item was handled by Canadian Post and was delivered to a local post in Australia. I am not given any information about the local post that handles this. I contacted Australia Post which is our national post here and they have no idea. What I should I do now? Why am I paying $1300 (CAD) for an item that I never received? Who is responsible for this? There are no instructions and options in the website to appeal a case that eBay already considers to be closed. This is just insane! How can you expect me pay for an item that I never received???

I will really appreciate it if someone help with this.

I have wasted so much time with PayPal in the past and have never managed to get any refund through them for items purchased through eBay. They will contat the seller like eBay did and the outcome will be the same.

It was delivered to Chippendale NSW on 3-6-2022. Is that where you live ?

G'day GP.  The OP needs to get onto this ASAP with AP because they'll only hold it for so long before doing an RTS on it.  Then there'll be another world of trouble for the OP, because it'll probably get sent back by seamail.

Don't you want to get your money back if your parcel isn't in Chippendale?

Yes, don't be so dismissive of PayPal. I haven't opened a case in many years, but in the past I always won. You do need some information/details from the Post Office because if the tracking just says delivered in Chippendale then they cannot help you. You have to open an investigation so they look into it and hopefully remember if somebody signed for you or who signed for you.

I don't use Facebook, but those who do say they are quicker to respond on FB if you send them a message.
