Wondering what is going on lately, for the past year I have had nothing but trouble with my overseas purchases, I have never put in a did not receive request until this year now I think I have put in 15!!... at first the sellers were telling me Australia Post was on strike?? never heard of a strike, now it is just things don't turn up at all and by the time you get around to following it up past the two month leeway now apparently given to sellers the request is closed down by Ebay grrr is this a postal thing? or am I just lucky for the years I have been on here never to have this happen until now?

It's not uncommon for items to take WAY longer from October to January from China / HK. If you run out of time for the eBay money back guarantee, which is 30 days from the last estimate date, you have 180 from sale date to open a dispute in PayPal. If you're buying from Asian countries, never let them string you along. If it doesn't arrive in a timely manner (4 weeks), open a dispute. Never accept the offer of a replacement. You can always repay them if the item arrives (which I've done a couple of times).

I have been having this problem for a year though now ๐ ... I have been on Ebay for 11 years and never had this many dramas with sellers before ... seems to be a trend lately I bought something back at the end of Oct and it told me not to expect it until Jan 4th, I mean come on now that time frame is ridiculous!... I guess I am just having a bad run of luck with them ๐ thank you for the advice ๐

I have been getting estimated arrival dates of 4th January on items from overseas.
And even items from Australia have estimated arrival dates of 20-23 December.
Some Chinese sellers ship their items in bulk to Hong Kong and Singapore where the post is faster and cheaper. They often have to wait quite a while until there are enough parcels to kake it worth their while.
I have had long delivery estimates before but the items have always arrived long before the time is up.

If an October purchase is showing an ETA of Jan 4, then the seller has probably got a very long handling time to account for delays in shipping. When you see that date, is it the date that is in your order details, or a date of a still active listing? If it's on a still active listing, the ETA date will change every day.

I've curtailed quite a lot of my overseas purchases via eBay in the last couple of years (not due to any issues with items not arriving etc, but I just tend to find there's less here I want to buy, and/or I buy it elsewhere), but I still do purchase a few things every month from overseas sellers - so far I've received everything, with delivery timeframes of anything from 1 week to 6, and I am seeing longer ETAs in the listings, too (at the moment, some of that may be taking Chinese holidays into account, there was about a 1 week holiday recently, and factories will be closing on the 10th of January for a couple of weeks).
In saying that, there were some sellers who I purchased from a couple of times a while ago, and I soon realised it was kinda pot-luck in terms of if something would arrive, and if it did it was usually 8 weeks later. They had a few IDs, but I managed to identify most of them because they all used the same photos and SKUs for the items I wanted to buy. If I contacted them about non-arrival, they were sometimes helpful, other times fairly reluctant to genuinely help, and I remember opening PP disputes once or twice out of frustration (eg they would ask if I wanted them to resend or refund, but then say things like "we can't find your transaction in order to refund" - as a seller, I know it's pretty easy to track a payment down, even if you have multiple IDs, and multiple PP accounts, they found the transactions quick enough once a dispute was opened).
