I expect you won't come back, but here goes anyway. Go to your purchase history and locate the item you bought. At the right of the item, click the drop down and then select that you didn't receive your item. Follow the prompts.
If it's been more than 30 days since the last estimated delivery date, you need to open a dispute in PayPal to get your money back. You are a buyer. You can be guaranteed of getting your money back.
If you need to know how to open a dispute in PayPal, reply to this message and we will let you know.
If the seller is Chinese, you won't get a refund by sending them a message. Don't let them tell you they will send a replacement. It's a refund only. You can always rebuy later. Chinese sellers are reknown for stringing you along until the time has passed to get a refund. Open a dispute now and get a refund. You can always repay the seller if the item arrives (which is what most people do).

Not eBay here, just people like you, fellow buyers and sellers
eBay staff do not read here
You say the item was never sent so I can only assume the seller has told you this in a message?
What have you done so far to try to get your money back?, you say you have been trying for weeks
Did you open an official item not recieved dispute through eBay?
If so, did you go back and confirm it did not arrive at all after the given time frame?
How many weeks?
If it was too long ago to open an eBay dispute , did you try PayPal?
eBay side with the buyer 99% of the time, unless seller can prove delivery so it is very unusual for a buyer to lose if they followed the correct procedure

Like bear said have you opened a case for item not received?
You need to open a case it isn't going to do it by itself.

You'll be spot on, tippy. They most likely won't return. They will be sitting back, awaiting a message from ebay.
I don't think everyone understands that these are messageboards. Maybe when people click into the section that says ebay community, there should be an introductory paragraph there that explains these are discussion or chat sites for members but if anyone has a personal query they will need to contact ebay.

What exactly was the item?
Not everything is covered by the MBG so if ebay says it was not covered then they cannot do anything to help you.
How did you pay? If you did not use paypal then you cannot claim under the guarantee.
