You don't know for sure that the parcel has gone missing so why ask hypothetical questions.
Haven't you learned that the estimated delivery times are not very accurate? And there are public holidays in some states.
I am sure you have a tracking number....you seem to have them for every parcel you get. Look at the tracking and see if the parcel has been delivered.

I've got all excited a few times when the van has pulled up out the front.....only for him to drive away a few minutes later......because he delivered something to the neighbours.
By your expectation of last Friday, are you going by the ETA that eBay gives you in the listing? That can often be quite unreliable. Very unreliable in fact and it causes quite a few issues for sellers.
Have you checked the tracking number? Does it say delivered? If there's a weirdo living in your block of flats that might be stealing mail, have you thought about getting a PO box? It could be a safer option, especially if you buy online a fair bit.
I'd give it another few days if the tracking number is saying it's still in transit. If you haven't got it by the end of the week, I'd contact the seller and let them know what's going on. If you are a regular customer, contact them directly, don't open an item not received case. However, if you get no joy from the seller, by all means open a case up then.

Ask the seller what date they sent it and ask for the tracking number. Check the status of the parcel before jumping to any conclusions.
If it shows as being delivered, let the seller know it wasn't delivered to you, and ask that they contact the courier they used and find out where it is or who signed for it.

Michelle if it's coming from the UK it's quite common for delivery times to vary quite significantly from delivery to delivery, even when using the exact same delivery method. You're jumping to too many conclusions too quickly. Give it a few more days, & do try to get a tracking number from the seller, they should have one.

Just curious - you supposedly have no tracking number and only heard the van so how did you know to lodge a complaint with both Star Track and Australia Post and why would you lodge a complaint with two different companies.
Something just doesn't make sense here.

Why would you ring StarTrack AND Australia Post????????
Australia Post can not take a complaint about StarTrack. even if they do own it. Of course you need a tracking number if you are making an enquiry about a shipment.
BUT if it is a package from the UK why would it be delivered by StarTrack....an Australian company. It would come through Australia Post and be delivered by your postman or contractor (depending on the size of the parcel).
Do you have the faintest idea how Australia Post works?
Why would it be hard to get a tracking number from a seller in the UK....unless it was the seller you were hasselling recently about when the item was posted....maybe she is just not opening your emails.
It might be a good idea to call the police.....maybe they can convince you that you are completely over-reacting to an ebay parcel (maybe, possibly) going missing....after they pick themselves up off the ground.
Unless the seller can prove that the item was posted you should get a paypal refund.
