Hi Forum,
Just needing some advice, I brought an item today and paid by paypal, usually it comes straight up as paid but this time it said payment pending, I checked and the money had come out of my account, I messaged the seller and told her what had happened and could she check her side, she hasnt received any money yet, I just checked my paypal account and it says seller is unregistered, do I need to ask her to do something, excuse all my ignorance, I just buy normally and dont delve into much so I have no idea how paypal works :8} but would like to pay my seller 🙂

I would say your seller has made a typo in entering her email address for the paypal payment.
I would ask her to check it. She can ring paypal if that is the problem.
Do not cancel your payment just yet...give the seller a chance to rectify the problem.

This is general advice and not specific to this purchase of yours - DO NOT let any seller convince you that their PayPal is 'not working' for some reason and requesting that you pay by Bank Deposit or Internet Transfer. Many buyers experience the 'PayPal not working' thing when a payment is unclaimed by a seller.
The only time I would Bank Deposit is when the amount is quite small and it wouldn't bother me much financially if I lost that amount of money (i.e. a couple of dollars), OR, when I have had previous dealings with a seller and trusted them based on those prior transactions.

Also ask them to check if they've upgraded from a Personal account to a Premier account in order to accept payments.

Just had a quick look & both your sellers from 25th August are NOT new to selling so seems a bit odd IMO

This has happened to me too. Buyer purchased item yesterday and supposedly paid via Paypal. Item shows payment pending. I checked my account and no funds or any notification of pending payment there.
Have now rung Paypal and they told me to check the address in the listing. Lo and behold the address showing does not exist!!! It is a mutation of an my old email address and my new email address (change last month).
How to fix? Paypal tell me to contact buyer and ask them to cancel payment, and resend to correct address. I have contacted Buyer and send another invoice which shows my correct Paypal address but haven't heard back yet.
I have since checked all 84 listings and found another listing with the same error. Have now done a bulk edit to make sure all Paypal addresses in my listings are correct. Paypal don't tell me how this has happened, is this a maintenance glitch?

I don't know about a maintenance glitch, but it is not unknown for paypal to dredge up old details...email addresses, bank details etc.

beautbots01the payment email address is stored in the listing and only in the listing, in theory, and mistakes can happen if you do not check each one to make sure it is correct before uploading, especially if you have recently changed your email address and are using an old listing as a template or it is a relist.
Another tip is if you change your email address do not remove the old one from Paypal, just add the new one and make it primary then if there is a glitch or you have not revised an email address then the payment will still go through, you just won't get the notification emails.
You can bulk edit through Selling Manager.
