It's not good form by the seller but if he is a newish seller then one can understand he might make an error.

Or you might be outside of a normal postage zone for AP.

Sometimes Aust Post have also been known to quote an incorrect price.

You can't force a seller to send the item so probably best to just accept the refund and cancellation.

OP has already paid the extra. I think; there's a significant lack of punctuation.

You might be right, I took it as "I paid, I want my item".

It's actually against eBay policy to change the shipping charges.

Black and white -

Offering or requiring additional purchases

Not allowedNot allowed

You can't offer or require the buyer to:

  • Make an additional purchase
  • Purchase additional items or quantities from a listing
  • Pay an amount beyond the final price and a reasonable shipping charge
  • Sign up for a service with the purchase
  • Take any unrelated action (such as pay for a hotel room) as a condition for receiving the item or its benefit (such as free or discounted airfare)

Note that it says a REASONABLE shipping charge. It does NOT say you can't ask what it actually costs.
