Postage from USA - why so expensive?

I have pretty much given up buying avything from the USA. Are their overseas postage fees really that exhorbitant at the other end? We are talking $25 - $30 for very small packages, compared to around $10 - $15 equivalent delivery method from the UK.

I used to buy allmy cosmetics from US. Now with the postage costs it makes the price ridiculous.

It is most upsetting because of the choices that were available.

I never had a probl em with normal postage.

After all this time it is most unlikely that the GSP will be withdrawn.

Just look for sellers who will still send by USPS...they are out there.

As soon as I see "from United States" I give up and move on. High postage costs rule them out as a supplier for me. I was quited $85 to send an A4 piece of paper recently!

i'm so glad you dragged up this really old thread as i'd almost forgotten the GSP is expensive.

well it was in 2014 when this thread was started, i'm sure its much better now? not sure what the best word is to describe it now, any thoughts?
