I am partly new with a debit card/account and recently, I accidentally purchased an Item that I had not been looking to buy. I immediately requested a refund. When I checked my purchase history, eBay stated that a full refund had been made on the 26th of July, but when I checked my bank account, I hadn't received my money back, even though eBay said it had been refunded. And it is a lot of money, and if it helps, I use Commonwealth Bank. Please help me, I really need the money. Thank you.

Oh - it was refunded on Friday - it is now Sunday - it may show in your bank Monday or Tuesday.

eBay stated - or the seller stated. ??

Not sure how you can ''accidently'' make a purchase, but having said that, there can be a delay in refunds being credited to your account due to processing times..

Ebay has also told me it has sent a payment for an item I sold (on another ebay account) on 26/7/24, but I don't expect my bank account to tell me it has received it until Monday. Because I know that even though transactions are supposedly instantaneous over the internet, banks do stuff, especially over the weekend, that regularly delay thing.
How on earth did you accidentally purchase an item? It takes me at least 2 if not more clicks to purchase. Poor seller had their hopes dashed there.

It is not possible to 'accidently' buy something
And especially not something that is 'a lot of money'
You need to be more careful
The seller may well really need the money too, and has now potentially missed out on a genuine sale
The refund to your bank is not going to be instant, just like it isn't when buying online from a store and it gets cancelled for whatever reason. And especially not over the week end

Thank you.
For the accidental part, I had been viewing it from check because I am not from the same country as the seller and normally when I am not, before purchasing it, a popup (one that always had come up for me with other stuff) containing the money conversion comes on my screen, I was waiting for that when this time it hadn't and the purchase was made.
It was an item I was viewing but not originally intended to buy, it was an honest mistake.
