Scam - sent fake item

PLEASE HELP I bought an item, 2 weeks later a postcard arrived saying 'thanks for your purchase'. It had the barcode of the bought item ,, so the item shows as 'delivered' on ebay. The 'real' item is obviously not coming. Ebay is sending me in circles with no actual help. I have contacted the seller who said the postcard must have separated from the parcel (it's in an envelope) and no longer reply to requests. How do i get to a real person in ebay to get real help?? Thanks

Re: Scam - sent fake item

Can you give me a step by step to create a dispute? Because I've been going around in circles for about 30 minutes now. And there's no option to report a seller for sending a fake knock off and get my money back. Your assistance would be Greatly appreciated. I've tried every option to the eBay "Help" tree. And believe me what they call help...isn't. It... is... not... great. I'd use more colorful language because I'm so angry. But I'm holding back.

I just need Help. Please.

I messaged you as you sound like you have done it before. So, any help would be a godsend.

Go to the link below and follow the steps there.

Just be aware that you may have to prove it's a fake, better to say the item is "not as described".

Re: Scam - sent fake item

Might be more info here.

Return an item for a refund | eBay

Do not mention 'fake' at all.

Just 'Item not as described'.

Do not close the case until you have a full refund.

Keep an eye on the case and ask ebay to step in once it allows you to.

Do not let it time out.

Re: Scam - sent fake item

I don't get the "not as described" option. When I open up my purchase history it doesn't give me the option the steps you ask for, I get

  1. Select See request details (if your item didn't arrive) or See return details (if you're trying to return an item).

The only option close to that is,

"View order details"

And when I hit that I don't get an option to "not as described".

Re: Scam - sent fake item

I give up. I've spent hours going around in circles. I'm done.

Thanks for trying to help me everyone, but I don't get the options you all say I should.

So, the seller has won this time. And I've lost $100.

Thank you all.

Re: Scam - sent fake item

In your purchase history click on "return this item" and it opens a list of options. use the option "item is defective".

Re: Scam - sent fake item

It doesn't come up with that as an option. I appreciate the help but I'm just going to wear the loss again. I bloody hate ebays supposed "help" system.

Re: Scam - sent fake item

OK. I spent a long time Live Chatting with eBay and they are helping me resolve the whole thing. And sent me a link to get thing sorted. So, I guess that's it. Thank you all for your help. I guess if you dance long enough then things do work out ok-ish.

Cheers people.

Your original post was in August, so you are way out of time to claim through the Ebay Money Back Guarantee, so you won't be seeing the options others have suggested. Your only options left now are, if you paid with PayPal, open a dispute for item not described there. If you paid with a credit card, you can try to do a chargeback through your bank. If you want to try a chargeback, do it sooner rather than later because there is a time limit on them. PayPal has 180 days from date of purchase.

Good day... maybe I'm missing something but from what I can see the member you are replying to first posted on this thread on 31/10/22.
