Hey guys,
Today I purchased a Xbox 360 console with accs.
The price didn't move thru the whole bidding process with mine being the only bid.
Auction goes through as all normal ones do until I receive a message from ebay an 30mins later saying the seller wants to cancel for no reason.
I believe that they never got anywhere near what the item was worth and so now want to can the sale!
I haven't responded yet, except to ask seller what's going on, but no reply.
I was going to do a COD to save them PP fees, so I haven't paid for it yet.
Any thoughts?

Decline the offer to mutually cancel and they still have to pay the fees.
Not much point in paying as they are not going to send it but at least you can leave neg feedback to say they refused to sell.
If you agree to cancel then you should not leave a neg as you are agreeing that it is ok to not proceed with the transaction and if you agree they get their fees back.
If you agree and then give them a neg they can get the FB removed as you agreed to no longer proceed with the transaction no matter what their reason.

Not really much can be done. If it is a new seller they have likely listed with a BIN thinking it was a reserve and have fallen well below the price they wanted and the item is indeed worth.
You can leave feedback stating seller refused to honour sale, but I would be inclined to let it go.
Check the seller history to see if they have done this before and that may assist you in the decision of how to deal with this.
You can't please all the people all the time, so now I just please myself

On the 9th April they sold the same thing for more so refuse the agreement and leave neg to warn others Seller does not complete sale for low price sale.
They will relist it again I am sure and tell them to relist at a price they will be happy with if it only gets ONE bid again.

XBOX 360, 250 GB CONSOLE , 4 CONTROLLERS, 1 HEADSET, 1 PLAY/ CHARGE KIT & MORE
With 334 feedback'sfeedbacks as a seller and over 700 all up they are far from a new seller and they should know better.

My experience was similar except it was a "buy it now" item which I paid for already. Seller cancelled transaction because he said it was out of stock although listed. He said it was a listing error. I was left with out of pocket bank charges, so I left a negative feedback. Seller requested revision in exchange for another item at a discount plus free shipping. I chose an item and asked Seller whether I should press the 'buy it now' button and wait for a revised invoice. No reply from buyer despite 2 emails. Don't know whether I should go ahead and just buy the product--but can I do that w/0 paying straight away, which means I wait for his invoice?
Also, be aware that although transactions have been cancelled, PayPal still proceeds to get the payment And refunds later. Kn owing the transaction was already cancelled, I bought other items instead, so there wasn't enough money in my acct to pay for this transaction which has just been cancelled. So I'm stuck with charges, no item, and an unresponsive seller who hasn't lived up to his promised offers!

Paypal would not be aware the transaction was cancelled, did the seller send a mutual cancellation and did you agree officially via the request?
the seller is possibly trying to string you along beyond the time to get a refund, although they do appear to be reputable, and may have already sent the replacement, but that does not excuse not answering your messages,
you only have 45 days from the time of payment to open a dispute, so do it NOW, you then have an additional 20 days before escalating to a claim, but I would proceed to escalate within around 15 days at the most if it hasn`t arrived by then .
Do not purchase again, If you mean you have bank charges due to the payment, try to stick to items that are listed un Aus currency, that will avoid any conversion rates your bank might charge.
It is only with the heart one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
