Seller cheaps out on postage, send as letter, auspost want me to pay upon pickup

I bought a foldable cutlery kit, the seller sends as a letter, putting only $1.40 worth of stamps, I used myparcel, but got an email from Auspost to pick up from the office because I need to pay upon pick up. So I was like **bleep**, when I got to post office, the lady showed me that the package failed to make it as a letter by a few mm I guess, and I therefore must pay $7.10 to receive the package. Which I refused as I have paid my postage to the seller. So I asked auspost to send the package back to the seller.

So what are my options? I want either a full refund and leave negative feedback because it is the seller's mistake that wasted my time because I had to go to postage office during my business hours. Or should I ask for a refund + compensation for my time for a positive feedback?

Thanks.

OP, either the seller made a mistake or they deliberately tried to squeak a parcel through as a large letter- either way it's their fault, and chances are if you contacted them politely, they would rectify the situation. If they didn't, you'd get your money back from PP anyway. Once again you are raging unnecessarily.

Go in all guns blazing with the seller and you'll only p*** them off. This is not how to get people to do what you want.

No-one is going to compensate for your wasted time. That is grandiose thinking bordering on the delusional. None of us are compensated when we get stuffed around in life, regardless of what our time is worth.

I hate to think how you'd cope if something truly terrible happened to you.

Something terrible already has happened!

The OP has found yet another dastardly seller, trying to waste his precious time and money!

I think if I was the OP, I'd be worried about a conspiracy - as these 'dodgy' sellers seem to be everywhere - yet curiously, the rest of us don't seem to have the same issues or concerns.

Sigh.........

But you're absoulutely right, elusive - go in full boar with guns ablazing...and see just how far that gets you!

perhaps that's why he couldn't get the quote quite correct

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

Hahahaha - totally agree.  I posted after OP's comment

. . . . . .  asking for both refund only, but recommended some sort of compensation for full customer satisfaction

but the post was removed - have no idea why, as it was quite tame  !  I only stated that in my opinion recommending/requesting compensation was extortion and that perhaps the seller will do unto OP as OP has done unto seller.

Not sure if they were my exact words, but something close, so we'll see if this gets removed now !  Just to add to those previous comments, might end up a case of karma - hehehe
