I recently purchase a coat that was supposed to be Size 18-20(AUST) wool blend. I got the coat no problem but the size was 14 and it has no wool I am sure. I used to work in textiles and I'm 100% sure it's not wool.
I gave a neutral feedback but wrote about the wrong size. Much of the neg & neutral feedback complaints are about size and quality. The seller wants to refund me $5.00 to change the feedback. They have now contacted me 4 times about it.

sweetpea, just quickly (racing to go out) - I agree with you totally - decision what f/back is left is buyer's alone - providing it's based on a feeling or opinion - NOT their interpretation of facts.
As I said before: you have a right to your own opinion, you have NO right to your own facts as facts are NOT subjest to opinions.
Now it's pitch dark outside - that's a fact - no one can argue with that and say: Oh, I think it's a glorious sunhine out there!
Feedback in this case: too small, more like a 14.....
That is exactly what the measurements in the listing show! Had the buyer bothered to look & compare she would have concluded that before she bought it.
What is any seller to do do you think?
They put the measurements there for a reason, to help customers to ensure a best possible fit - and in those cases no one has a right to "an opinion" to the contrary as it's meaningless, the only end result is upsetting the seller needlessly.

The OP bought size 18-20, which is not in the measurement table. So, there were NO measurements for the coat she bought.
I agree with most of your points, but there are measurements for that size in the table. The coat purchased was: Asian XXL(US L(16),UK 18,AU 18-20๏ผ
The XXL is there, with a waist measurement of 90cm. I would call that an AU 12-14 if I were listing it, depending, but they are there none the less, and if the coat received matches those measurements then there's fault on both sides.

Why are you guys determined that the OP is at fault?
Actually, the OP purchased a XXL and the measurements are most definitely in the listing. The OP either chose to ignore them or didn't see them, but neither of those are the sellers fault
on โ01-06-2013 05:58 AM
WHY on the earth do you think the seller was not in fault? have you looked at the 650 NEGs they got this year?
Like :
Size 2 small, nowhere near measurement, seller pain in the neck, not helpful
Item Far too small,Not as described and come up really Short not like the photo!
So thin terrible quality
Most of these sort of sellers use stock photos and the clothes they send are badly made copies, hardly resembling the photos. The OP bought size 18-20, which is not in the measurement table. So, there were NO measurements for the coat she bought.
Why are you guys determined that the OP is at fault?
yes i have seen the negs, but arent we judging this one particular transaction? and if the ammount of negs are a concern.. did the buyer bother to look at the sellers profile before bidding?
i see nothing wrong with the listing.
Its a buyer beware situation especially when it comes to purchasing clothing online
i might physically go to a mens wear shop & actually try on on shirt or whatever, go home and realize its the wrong size
huge risk purchasing clothing online [sight unseen], in fact all the times ive done that i was never happy with the fit, cant blame the seller for that. and because you cant try the item on before you buy.. i will never bid on clothing again.

@joz*garage Joe I pretty sure I answered your question in my comments already.
But what I think or would do has nothing to do with what the OP should do, I have not engaged in the transaction they have and only they no how they feel about it.
For those fixated on the measurements its not the only complaint the OP had and our thoughts and opinions are of no concern to anybody on this matter.
This is the OP,s decision and there`s alone.
It is a reflection of how they felt with the transaction nothing else.
It does not matter how trivial it is its there decision and it should not be influenced buy anyone otherwise its just a corrupt feedback and not a true reflection of how they felt about it.
I think this thread is dead there is no need to go on the OP would now have enough idea what to do and has been corrupted enough.
To the OP, Take a day or two calm down think about it all let your emotions calm down a little and make the right decision for you in your mind what and how you feel about what has happened with all the knowledge you have gathered . Im sure you will make the right decision for you in the end.

sweetpea - "to all of those fixated on measurements"
They are ALL there is in online shopping that makes a difference if something will fit or not.
There aint no fitting rooms!
OP was also unhappy with fabric - never bothered to come back and tell us what did the fabric label say (irrelevant now anyway, as the opinion that it wasn' wool was hers alone) Buyers have absolutely NO right to change the facts to their own interpretation, NO right to express their opinion about the facts as those are removable - and for a good reason. That is no longer a "Buyer's impression " - it's fabricated and not related to any facts.
OP's opinion doesn't count for anything here as the f/back is related to size, instantly removable according to Ebay ac. manager, rang yesterday to check and make sure what their policy is - as we also sell clothing with measurements in the listing.

sweetap, i read your posts & what can i say? the OP and any other registered member has the right to post a topic, and the right to express an opinion.
the OP has put it out there, and of course there are going to be interactions and differing opinions, on any topic.

If the OP didn't want opinions then they should probably not have posted in the first place, not that I have noticed them back at all.
The measurements are of course important. The buyer has a responsibility to read the listing and find out if it is suitable for them.
The OP is a seller themselves. If I purchased their dog collar, how would they then feel if I left them a neutral saying it didn't fit my dog (even though they have included measurements)? How would they feel if I also wasn't happy that it didn't contain any "DIAMOND"?
