I recently bought a ps4 console from a seller. He was a new seller with 0 feedback.
Since i had been scammed in a similar transaction before, i asked him if he was genuine and that the console is the real deal.
Then he seems to have been offended.
I later apologised and explained my past experiences
Then he shipped the item but told me since i was rude to him (which i did not) that i can forget about the tracking number and just wait for the package.
But the problem is that i usually have my stuff sent to an auspost parcel collection point and not my home address (easier that way)
And now with no tracking, i will have no idea if the package got to the post office safely.
I tried to message him- both politely and some what aggressively (no swearing or anything)- but he is simply not replying.
What should i do now to deal with this seller

They may or may not have been scammed, but isn't it a little early to tell?
I can't imagine that the police would take it seriously, seeing it was only bought 3 days ago.

No - take a look at the listing - in the description seller has stated only Bank Deposit and gone so far as to say
If put through paypal I will refund you the money. As I have been done over and will not happen again.
How do you get done over by paypal if used correctly? Scam
As to the police - I agree they won't be that bothered, but couldn't think of any otheer action to take in a case like this.

But the weird thing about the sale is that the seller sent me a message telling me that he shipped it himself personally on Thursday the 3rd at 4:30pm and retorted with how he is a real seller and that he has a great paying job and dont really care about the price he put up. Then he said that it should arrive Friday or the following Monday but didnt offer the tracking number (which he promised in a further response message).
It may be that he is new, inexperienced and kind of **bleep** off lol
Ill definitely check out my local PO to see if the package has arrived on monday, if it didnt, ill be reporting both to ScamWatch set up by the ACCC and the police.
cheers for the help

Hope you do, but then again, I am the Fairy Godmother and .....
well you get the picture.....
all you need to sell on eBay is an id, and in this case, a bank account, it is the MOST popular site for scammers.
In future, paypal, paypal, paypal - all the way, no matter the excuse, no matter the sob story, if a seller does not offer paypal (or paymate) they are in direct breach of eBay protocol, and believe me it is not just coz they are new, it is coz they are there for one reason, and one reason only....
Scam
I really do hope Lyndal is wrong, but that is actually very rare, and looking at the listing she has every reason to be concerned.

As you are now in a transaction you and he can get contact details via eBay - be interesting to see if he rings you.
If he has indeed requested your contact info you will have a message from eBay providing you with his info also.
You can pull his info if you want but I can't remember how to do it
go to site map and search, it has been a while since I have been actively selling on eBay

If he only posted it on Friday afternoon, it may not even leave his post office until Monday.
Australia Post quote 2 business days minumum these days, which would be Tuesday.
As there is little chance you will get your money back if he IS a scammer, it wouldn't hurt to wait long enough for the item to actually arrive, from the time posting was claimed, before you start going to the authorities.
So the money cleared into his account on Thursday and you left him a neg on Friday morning because he hadn't given you a tracking number?
