Hi all, I hope you can help me.
I purchased a used item, and I paid $25 AUD postage with it, which was quite cheap for the item. Seller stated that it was buyer to organise shipping/pickup which looking at the original listing did say that. They offered a full refund if I wanted. I offered to organise shipping since the price was pretty good.
I asked to either refund the $25 and I'd organise courier pickup or keep the $25 and take it to a parcel dropoff/post office and I'll send them a label. I asked for their information so I could organise whichever option.
After over a week with no response I said I wanted to cancel and put a cancellation request in.
Few days later the cancellation request was denied and to wait until it arrived. On the 16th which was almost a week ago.
I clicked on "Item hasn't arrived" but eBay says it's not covered by the money back guarantee, which doesn't make sense on the original listing it said it was?
What do it do?

If it's past the ETA and you're still unable to file a claim for item not received under the MBG , go to eBay Help at the top of the page, follow the prompts until you get to the automated assistant and ask to speak to a supervisor.
There's no need to mention anything about other delivery arrangements as nothing else took place.
Simply, you purchased an item, paid the postage and the item which was showing as covered by eBay's MBG , hasn't arrived.
Let us know how you go.

IF the listing included a postage option you should be covered. ie. A postage method for the $25.
Did the seller provide a tracking number?
If so, what does the tracking say.
I would be talking to eBay.
There is more to this than the information in your post, methinks.
Edit:
What did you buy?
Not all categories are covered by the MBG.

eBay Money Back Guarantee policy | eBay
The buyer arranged their own delivery method, such as a courier pickup | Not covered |

But the buyer apparently didn't and the seller claims it was posted???

It's all too confusing for me.
Seller charged $25 for postage, but stated buyer had to arrange courier/pick up?
And then posted it anyway??

what is the item number?

Hi davewil1964, imastawka, twyngwyn, thanks for your replies.
Yeah I know it sounds weird. I haven't received any tracking number or any indication it was shipped.
Item number:196684368842
Original RIMOWA Check-In M 65x42x23 Classic Titanium (Serial #9456301201454) | eBay
At the bottom, it does say "eBay Money Back Guarantee". I don't think I've ever seen something that was excluded from the guarantee, I would assume eBay would specify on the item that it wasn't covered? Because when I go to "item hasn't arrived" I see:
It also shows the postage, which for me was $25.81 and is what I paid:
Is my only option to go sort it out with eBay themselves?

Buy now AU$1,000 or nearest offer
In person inspections welcome in either Noosa or Canberra Australia locations. Shipping possible but arrangements and costs must be arranged by buyer.
OK, not a big seller, sorry, but red flags to me.....it looks like they don't know what they're doing....their $25 'costs' might just be for the 'mucking around' with a courier pick-up.....
anyone else got different thoughts???

OP, are you in the same 'neck of the woods' as the seller?

Yep I think you're right, I should've been more careful about an inexperienced seller.
Unfortunately, they're not in the same neck of the woods; they're on the opposite side of the country. Otherwise pickup could've been an option, well, if the seller would reply that is.
