I just read the last post "Sellers inability to package items securely" and agree with the frustration.
I bought Rolex watch movements. They were mailed to me in a small paper envelope.
I was charged $8 for postage and the seller spent $2. I complained to the seller three times with no response before posting negative feedback.
I noticed today the seller has left a comment on my feedback saying I lie and the items were mailed in a box with bubble wrap.
I have the envelope the movements arrived in. It has the sellers business stamp on it. I am happy to provide photos to verify my claim.
Something has become lost, some sellers genuinely don't care. To counter genuine feedback with a fabricated response.
What and who are buyers to believe?
What is it when poor service and negative feedback can be shrugged off with untrue counter responses?

Another unconscionable seller adding to the great divide between buyer and seller. And, I’ll say it, a ‘Grub’ we can all do without if OP’s claims are right, and I have no reason to believe otherwise.
I had a similar experience not long ago OP and posted it here. I had the last say. It was factual and telling and dovetailed perfectly with some other recent feedback, but did other potential buyers take any notice? Nup! There’s plenty more red after mine.
Try and have the last say in a decent, believable way, but I doubt it will change anything. eBay is populated with a certain percentage of grubby garden pests, both buyer and seller.
Deal with it. Move on.
i wish you well.

You are able to reply to their reply and that will put an end to it as they won't be able to add another reply. I would write something along the lines of "get your eyes tested bozo, I have the envelope. SCAMMER!". No, just joking, don't write that! Just put a polite reply stating that they did in fact post in an envelope, which you have kept as proof. Don't get angry with them or swear or name call, as it makes you look bad. I'm sure you can find a polite, but factual reply to fit into 80 characters.

Or...
Seller has world’s first invisible box & bubblewrap? Lying = not good impression

I would most definitely reply, especially as he won't be able to counter reply so yours will be the last word.
You are right, what are other buyers going to believe? At the moment, they don't know but might be inclined to give the seller the benefit of the doubt & suspect you were exaggerating things for some reason. But if you reply factually and clearly, they will believe you.
I'd reply along the lines of-Incorrect & I still have envelope with your business stamp on it to prove it.

I don't quite understand the problem.
Were the movements damaged? If not, this is not related to receiving broken items, but your outrage at being charged more than the sticker price for postage. If they arrived undamaged, de facto they were adequately packaged.
It has been said before, and I'll say it again - if the price is including postage is acceptable, then it doesn't matter what portion is attributed to each of price and postage. The total cost is the total cost.

The price for postage was listed separately. It was specified as $8 Postage plus the purchase price.
The items were 1930s Rolex watch movements. The pinions of these movements are hardened steel that is finer than a human hair.
A hard bump or knock breaks the pinions instantly. I have been buying watches on ebay since 2004. In that time I have only received 3 items shoved into an envelope used for mailing letters. This was not a $5 purchase. Look up how much a Rolex Movement sells for and then tell me that mailing them in an envelope is a good thing.
Have taken the advice of others and responded to the sellers comments with straight facts.

Can't see your reply yet, but it could take a few minutes to appear.
