Re: Sellers should be allowed to leave Negative and Neutral feedback for bad buyers.

When I signed on for eBay it wasn't long before I discovered the deviousness of a few sellers, and in one case my opinion of the items I'd bought was not complimentary and the postage I was charged was a shock too. (Lest anyone come on and say, "Well why didn't you...blah blah blah first?"  I needed the item in a hurry, the photos looked good....and I was limited to two hours of internet access once a week.  So I took a punt...and lost.  Chinese seller (I know, I know...but I WAS new to eBay) then threatened me with bad feedback (and said all manner of unpleasant things)...unless I withdrew my comments.  I chickened out and withdrew them.

I'm glad sellers like that no longer have that kind of power.  Mind you, that particular seller is also no longer on eBay either.

Just recently I bought items from two Chinese sellers (something i rarely do but they were the only sellers that had exactly what I was looking for) and things are going OK with the item that is coming from China.  It has tracking, it was posted right away and according to Aust Post it is on it's way.  Ironically the other item, also with tracking, which is from the seller's Melb warehouse took days to be (allegedly) posted and according to Aust Post hasn't been updated since they accepted the lodgement.  I am also in Melb.  Something tells me the parcel from China might turn up first.

Agreed - the original post I quoted was in the context of unpaid items, I believe, but there are more devastating bad behaviours, none of which deserve a green halo.

I remembered the original post, and agreed with it in that context 🙂  Out of that context, though, (or because none was provided in either of the OP's posts) I really wanted to provide further insight into reasons why a seller might wish for the ability, as while there probably is a satisfaction element to it sometimes, in most cases it would be more for the benefit of others (like FB for sellers is supposed to be).

Admittedly, the vast majority of posts in the forums that bemoan the loss of being able to leave buyers negs is over UPIs, though.
