I came across a seller that had an item for sale at over 9 times what it normally sells for and messaged them to
point out that they may have put the decimal point in the wrong spot.
Their message back was: Thank you for your enquiry.
All of the information we have at this stage is supplied on our product page.
Happy Shopping.
So that explained it,(Chinese seller that uploaded items with recommended prices as suggested by their
"manager" who has no idea or favours another seller).
They have over 9 million items listed and 4 out of 5 seem to be in the same vein,(from what I could see none
of those items have ever sold).
Which off course isn't surprising as they are way over priced and they obviously have no checks in place.
With the new rule coming in about "stagnant" listings that have been sitting around they could lose 8 million
listings and it makes you wonder how many more listings by other sellers could be affected.
I've added them as a saved seller to see whether they will be a protected seller who can do no wrong?
The listing in question was a golf putter holder that clips on to you bag,(I bought one years ago as my bag
didn't have an external putter holder like all the new bags do and it didn't even last two weeks),
Another listing has lake balls that are priced higher then new balls,

Used balls should be the same as used cosmetics
Ain't nobody wanna buy used balls

Tazz, just to be off-topic for a moment (but you raised it's ugly head)
Those stagnant listings would only be the GTC ones. Relisted every month, and they
get a new item number.
Just sayin'

Oops!, that's golf balls,(they are around $70 a dozen but this seller wants $178 for 24 lake balls and $170
plus for one dozen 2015 new balls or one dozen near mint balls).
Ludicrously over priced,

So there could be tens of millions of listings that have no hope of being sold so they clutter up the site but they
will be left alone,(these are the type of listings that should be removed).

There's a seller who has a user name that I find a little ironic, all things considered. They're pretty big (over 200k FB), so I won't name them, but it's along the lines of the following (googled - feeling lazy) synonyms "Basically™ Unbeatable Costs".
They list a lot of the same products I do, at around 5 x the price my stuff is.
Needless to say... I love them.

I havnt heard about new rules for stagnent listings. Does anyone have any further info or links ? You have me worried as my whole business model is based on stagnent listings. I list rare unusual items that no-one else has. The flip side is there are very few buyers for them, but when a buyer does come along, they are willing to pay good money as the item is not available anywhere else. I often sell items that have been listed for a number of years and had an enquiry tonight on an item that has been listed since 2012.

Digi I know who you mean.
They list a lot of DVDs that no-one else has. Although the prices are rather high they are not out of this world but the problem arises when someone orders them....they are usually refunded because there is no stock available.
They also list stickers for $17 to $25 that are available elsewhere for $3 to $5.
