If she loves her pets that much, why isn't she mixing their food herself? It's not hard to buy a lot of ingredients and mix them up yourself. Most people used to do this for their pets because they didn't used to have the array of stuff there now is at the supermarket.

Obviously no one should import anything illegally.
The best thing when in doubt would be to ring or email customs and have a chat, ask about any particular product.

Good.
At least SOMEBODY has regard for our quarantine laws and the survival of our many unique species.

michelle, you now need to show this seller some respect by not interfering with their selling activities by buying or bidding on their items any more. You know that they are not going to send items to you here in Australia so you need to move on.
If you do continue to try to buy from them you may end up being reported to eBay and if you do that often enough then you may find that eBay will no longer be an option for you to purchase your pet treats.
Also, if you do continue to try to buy from them they may form a bad opinion about Australians . . . . . they may think we all haved impaired mental capacity.

Or are they just protecting themselves from Michelle who says she has dealt with them before?

I was going to ask this, too. You could easily make an all natural food supply, no artificial ingredients, no preservatives, that would be as good (if not better) than any branded food that can be purchased.
And heck, if there aren't any similar brands in Aus yet, that sounds like a business opportunity to me, as well.

It's legal to make your own food mixes.......

I really wonder if it's wise for you to admit on an open forum that you are breaking Australia's Quarantine laws michelle, there could easily be lurkers on here that work for Customs or have family/friends that do.
I'm sure that Customs or Quarantine could force eBay to give your personal details to them given that you are breaking Australian laws....................................
Of course the better thing to do would be to STOP breaking those laws - sooner or later they will catch up with you.

no need to request details from eBay . . . . . I reckon any hampster could guess michelle's real name from her ID . . . . . and she has openly said she lives in Hobart Tas. You wouldn't have to be a genius to intercept parcels passing through the mail exchange for michelle and apply appropriate checks and/or sanctions.
