Size does matter actually

I'm looking at a clothing item I would like to buy but there is no sizing info anywhere in the listing, other than S, M, L, XL etc.  I messaged the seller to ask if they would exchange if the one I purchased was not the right size or if they had a sizing chart available.

I just got a reply telling me no, there is no sizing chart available and yes, I can exchange for a different size but postage both ways would be my responsibility.

I suppose I could message them again asking for measurements but should I really have to?  I doubt I'll go through with the purchase now but I'm disappointed because I was really keen on it.

Re: Size does matter actually

With the seller in question here, if I wanted a garment (where I was unsure of the brand measurements), I would ask for them.

For the seller to have an enquiry as to fit, and say only that an exchange is ok but shipping would be my responsibility both ways...I would not buy.

Not because the seller is in the wrong. If an item doesn't fit and I return it I expect it to be at my cost, if the measurements weren't specified. No seller mistakes, my responsibility.

But, the seller received an enquiry about fit and could just have sent the measurements right then.

Only saying a return is ok, with shipping at buyer expense, would leave me not buying. As I would have no real idea if I might have to do that. Why risk a loss for the sake of not getting a clear, upfront set of measurements? No thank you.

Always best to know the measurements and no harm in asking. If the seller can't be bothered at that point, no sale.

So as Lurker said, should she really have to? (Ask)

At that point the seller should have provided them.

Re: Size does matter actually

I buy quite a lot of clothes online fixnwear, from places like Ezibuy, The Iconic etc (and like it or not that's who eBay clothing sellers are competing against) and they all offer free return and exchange as well as clear sizing charts.  I'm not encouraging rorting the system or trying to rip sellers off, but this particular sellers attitude makes it very easy for me to say pffttt and take my business elsewhere.  That's the point I was trying to make.
