I was looking for a certain AU seller, went to advanced search.
It took me to a seller in the states, not the well known australian seller.
I clicked on them wondering if they were the same seller. No they weren't .
I didn't bother looking further, went to Face Book for a bit then had my tablet sitting on my lap untouched and powered down.
Came back an hour later and I received this message, "You bought this item" Please pay now.
It $695.49 plus post from US !! Yikes how did that happen.
First of all I would never buy a piece of jewellery like that.
Then I would have had to click the "Buy it now " button, then go to the page and click confirm button.
None of that happened.
I messaged the seller explaining my confusion and have asked for a cancellation.
Has anyone heard of this before? Strangest thing I have ever had happen on ebay yet.

Now normally I would say -- Right, likely story.........
but given your experience and feedback, WOW, this is way wierd.
No one else had access to the tablet that could have clicked on stuff not knowing what they were doing ? Children ?
Do let us know if you find out what went on.

Thank you greencat.
Yes I know it looks sus, but no kids here, cat was outside, dog not interested!
It was sitting by my side with the cover closed, so you can imagine my shock,
as I know all the stages you have to go through to actually buy an item.
Don't really know how to find out what happened, it is a tablet and not had a problem with it before.
I am now back on my laptop as I'm scared to touch the tablet in case I buy anymore expensive thing from OS.
Hopefully the seller will get back to me. Not sure if he'll believe me, I have seen some pretty good excuses before.
The item number was

Have a look in task manager and see if anything like dll32 is running in processes.
Or if your cpu is running at a high percentage in performance. (task manager)
Recently there has been some talk about accounts being used remotely or info gained remotely.
I had my PayPal hacked yesterday, all good now but gee, computers are more fallible than I realized.

We have just checked and all seems normal with the tablet.
I didn't receive anything in my messages or email to say I had bought it.
No invoice, just a note at the top of my page to say "You bought this item" Pay now.
Bizarre, it the word that comes to mind.

When I checked the listing it is ended, so definitely been purchased and to a buyer in Aus.
Hope you can get it sorted quickly.

Probably wouldn't hurt to change your passwords with ebay and paypal anyway. ๐
