Unfair feedback

Made a recent purchase and although it took about a month to arrive I left a positive feedback.

2 weeks later they still had left no feedback for me. I contacted the seller they said that they had.

3 times I wrote to say it wasn't showing, 3 times they wrote back to say it was there.  Finally I said  I would just put it down to a disappointing transaction.

The next day the feedback arrived saying 'difficult and aggresive customer' which proves it hadn't been done.

Where can I go from here. Although I have only bought 32 items I feel my name has been smeared. This seller has sold over 14,000 products, why would they do this?

At no point did I say anything other then the feedback was not there.

As a buyer you have absolutely no need to ever have more than 10 feedback which allows you to post unrestricted on the boards.

Hi PJ, this isn't directed at you, it's a just a general comment on what you have written.

I know that under the old moderation software that a sub 10 ID was limited to just 10 posts per day, however I think that is no longer the case.

A couple of the sub ten ID's tried it out over on CS not long after the changeover (I remember a poster called Kilroy is here, who has a FB score of 1, but not the others) and they were no longer limited.

I don't know if this has changed back to the old way since then though.

Re: Unfair feedback

If it has changed then thank goodness, it always seemed silly to me to restrict newbies from posting when they are the ones most likely to need help, often with a lot of questions and qualification needed.

So in light of that I say why does a buyer need ANY feedback?

Re: Unfair feedback

Lyndal if I say unclear titles, listing in the wrong category, ignoring all advice to change listings to make it clear you are selling a pattern perhaps you will understand why somebody may feel a personal attack on yours truly would appear to be a good idea lol.

Re: Unfair feedback

look onn the bright side Lyn, I've seen threads were the posts that remain were from one poster, so they would have 8 or 9 posts in a row now all showing as if they were talking to themselves LOL

One post says something like "I don't agree with what you are saying yadayada" and the way it remained it looked like they were disagreeing with themself LOL

Re: Unfair feedback

I am glad I came to the message boards. I have been an Ebay member for a number of years (on and off) and am completely clueless when it comes to most things. I too was a bit upset at not getting feedback from a seller and was about to email them about it. However, thanks to all the comments I have read on this thread I have changed my mind.

I would have to disagree with a comment that it is only important for a seller to have feedback as there is always the possibility that a buyer may want to become a seller and therefore nice comments would help to prove their honesty and genuiness. I know it is a moot point though.

Anyway, if there are any sellers out there who read this, I don't think I would be alone in saying that when you give feedback it is like you are saying 'thankyou, please come again'.

Thankyou to all the people who provided information on this post as it looks like it saved me from making a **bleep** of myself Smiley Very Happy
