Vent!!!! Of all the items I have bought from china 6 items have not arrived.

I remember now why i stopped using ebay ages ago I got frustrated at all the times I bought from china and they never sent it to me. Tyen they drag on the process over the 30 days sso you cannot get refunded by paypal. This time I am giving them a chance to refund me if not I will be leaving very neg feedback. Anybody else had this problem?

Just venting my anger but I suppose you get what you pay for and I knew the risks so I can't blame anybody else. Its just these shonky traders make it hard for the good chinese sellers.

Is there any truth to the fact that if they get a bad name they just move on and start over with a new account and do it again?

So so so so over it.....  But I have also had great dealings with some great chinese ebayers. So I suppose they can come from anywhere not just china.

end vent.

Putney would you know if the 20 days has changed ?

I recently started a claim but did not escalate it but I swear it was closed before 14 days were up .

I purposely just started the claim only as the seller was communicating well so wanted to wait at least a couple of weeks in case the item arrived and the claim closed well before 20 days Smiley Sad

It was only a few dollars so no big deal but it took me by surprise .

No, it's still 20 days from the date of lodging a claim until it that claim is automatically closed if it hasn't been escalated within that time. If you're unsure about the actual dates involved, you can log in to Paypal and check your previous dispute history, as records have been kept right from the day you opened your Paypal account. I'd be very surprised if you didn't find that everything was above board regarding the claim in question.

Re: Vent!!!! Of all the items I have bought from china 6 items have not arrived.

Foxette  gti_jewelz-Have you seriously spent months worrying and giving yourself a headache (your words) over US $2.38 ?

----------------------------------------------

I understand where you are coming from, Foxette.

Jewelz would have been better off just putting in a paypal claim before the time expired instead of listening to anything a seller told her.

But there are a couple of points here that stick out to me.

1. Okay, so maybe it isn't a huge amount of money, but that isn't the point. The point is the buyer feels let down, disappointed, cheated.

I don't know that anyone should feel bad because they are upset about losing a small purchase, I don't think anyone should be expected to write it off either. If people get disappointed too often with how the system works then they won't come back, they certainly won't make any bigger purchases. It's not a good thing for ebay.

2. I keep seeing lots of sellers claim here that the paypal conditions are clear and everyone gets a warning when they buy that they have 45 days to put ina  claim etc etc etc

Now I know about the 45 day limit, but I have to admit, it is because I have seen it referred to so often in here. In other words, the people in here have taught me a lot.Smiley Wink  I am really grateful for that.

I'm probably just not an observant person but I have never noticed any 45 day warning come up. I fully believe it is there, don't get me wrong. I am just saying I have never noticed it. And if I am like that, after hundreds of purchases, there must be some buyers around who know even less than I do.

So ebay need to do something else. I am not sure what. Maybe if there has been no feedback from a buyer within, say, 40 days, ebay should sent out an automated email, a courtesy email that asks buyers to tick an option froma  checklist, such as-purchase completed, item received or item not received-wish to put in an unpaid item dispute (with a rider that this is recommended if the item has not been received as the time limit is close to expiry.)

-------------------------------

PS I have to say, I have made a couple of purchases from China. One was on ebay, another much bigger one on aliexpress, and both times I was thrilled with the sellers & no trouble, but both had good feedback. There are some things i would hesitate to buy though, such as wedding dresses etc as I have heard hit and miss stories there.

Re: Vent!!!! Of all the items I have bought from china 6 items have not arrived.

I have another concern, as yet not realised but still there.

I notice that I am having to go through the procedure to get refunds for no shows more often than before and the concern I have is as the number rises I might be regarded as one of those who falsely claim no shows. Which would be too easy if you were so inclined.

I imagine the problem of the no shows is mainly due to the postal overload but there are sharks on both sides and I would not like to be tarred with that brush.

Who in their right mind would give your comment "kudos"? So you're telling me that if I "start a dispute" within 40 days about some seller who hasn't sent me my item (or I haven't received it), then my item will magically instantly appear or I will magically get a refund, even if the seller chooses not to give me one? Ebay/Paypal have those type of magical powers do they? Get real. Don't waste my time again.

Umm actually paypal does have that power. TO REFUND YOU. Too easy if you listen to others advise and not knock those whom do know the rules.

You yourself posted this "This 45 day Paypal/Ebay/case rule thing is an absolute JOKE! " which implies you know that paypal will refund IF you follow through.
