Started out with my usual hunt around last night worldwide for any nice kingfisher figurines in all categories.I always see there are a lot of kingfisher skulls/skins for sale.looked into it further to satisfy my curiousity. These are farmed, wild caught and bought from markets in Asia.I thought thats bad enough.Decided to go further and look what fur was for sale.Happened across one seller from China with over 8000 feedbacks selling all sorts of fur products from many different animals and they stated they are all from Chinese Fur Farms.Kept going and did a Google search on these farms{WORST THING I EVER DID}.Go and watch a couple of videos,I dare you.Extreme cruelty at its absolute worst.I do not belong to any group. This is just an experience that happened.Ebay Honchos need to get together and watch this stuff on a big screen and just ban this from being sold on Ebay. But we are very greedy and it always come down to the dollar and to hell with anything else.I did see there were petitions to sign on the internet so maybe people could take out a little time to support this.Once in a blue moon I get on these message boards but felt I had to have a say.

Why was this a bad eBay experience? Nobody forced you to dig into all that stuff.
I would have thought a search for 'kingfisher figurine' would spare you the horror. Yep, no skulls or skins searching that way.

i agree with dave no one forced you to google anything

I also agree, and I don't need to see the video I've seen plenty of videos and pics of Chinese fur farms..
Just for the record, you might want to watch out for any "acrylic" furs as they're often from cats or dogs

Dave and Carly, I don't think the point is that the OP was forced to google these things, I think the OP is bringing up a valid point about the origin of these fur farms and their items being sold on ebay.
Why criticize the OP for finding this awful and having a say about it? Honestly....

I agree with nonny_muss. The OP makes a valid point.
If they did what they did in those chinese fur farms, to the animals in Australia - it would be classed as animal cruelty. There was a big outcry in Australia over live exports, yet it seems that the cruel fate of animals in chinese fur farms are overlooked perhaps for the sake of 'fashion' or people's ignorance.
Animals also have a heart that beats and although they can't talk and express their problems like you and me - they sure can feel pain.
Take a look : chinese fur farms on peta.org.au
Animals aren't ours to torture or wear.

Thank-you Nonny,It is a valid point. That is why I felt compelled to make more people aware of this.

Do you wear leather shoes? Or does the above sentiment only count for cute fluffy animals?
I am well aware of what happens on fur farms and I don't need to watch any videos..
They are also not overlooked, there are plenty of animal groups aside from PETA who campaign against fur farms and fur in general...

Because I don't care? And because my point is equally valid.

Define dim wit [sic].
I warrant that by any measurement, except overweening compassion, I outrank you.
I eat meat, too. Every day. With much enjoyment.
