Want It Now posts - anyone else noticed this?

I put a couple of posts on Want It Now, as I'm looking for some books. Have used it before, no trouble.  Now, I logged in to see if there were any responses to my queries, and the minute you click your entry you get booted out, back to ebay's home page. I notice another ebayer has lodged a Want it Now subject line, regarding access being blocked. I emailed ebay & was told I should add credit card details to my seller account. This - as far as I'm concerned - is rubbish. Has anyone else had this problem?  Are ebay trying to do away with it & not honest enough to just to tell people the truth.

It's also listed on the bottom of every search results page.

Latest - ebay finally told the truth - they're discontinuing Want It Now.  Why not just be honest about it when members ask, or remove it altogether.  Such a shame, though. Musn't be making enough money for them.

Re: Want It Now posts - anyone else noticed this?

On September 18 or 19 I contacted eBay customer support regarding the Want It Now links misbehaving and received this reply on the 19th.

Hello there, Steven !
Thank you for contacting eBay in regard to the Want It Now posts.
Steven, I have viewed the Want It Now section and it seems not to be functioning properly. I apologize for the inconvinience that this has caused you.
This must be a bug on the site as it is supposed to lead into the details of the post instead of navigating away from the Want It Now section. This is an isolated issue and I am reporting this bug to our technical team so that they can take a closer look to this issue.
As there is no timeframe yet as to when this issue can be resolved, it is best to make use of the regular site for now.
Please be assured that we take these reports seriously and we are doing our best to resolve this to provide a better place to trade in eBay.
It is my pleasure to help you get the answers to your concern. Please remember that eBay is always here to help you in any way we can. I wish you all the best. Cheers!

Kind regards,
Rey S

eBay Customer Support

Sounds like they either don't tell their own staff what is going on or maybe tell them to make up plausible-sounding excuses until the hammer falls. It's a pity they have chosen to not just be transparent and tell users what is going on, because their reputation will only suffer. Normal people (ie, you, me and basically everybody else in the world who would like to trust a business) can handle the truth - we might not like it but, if we know what is happening, at least we can accommodate it and make other plans if necessary. Keeping customers in the dark is stupid.

Re: Want It Now posts - anyone else noticed this?

Just got off the phone to eBay - Want It Now was cancelled back in September.  It no longer exists.  The guy I spoke to is going to get all references to it fixed up etc. so that it no longer comes up in "help" etc.....
