Unless you bought from a registered reseller you would have trouble getting satisfacion on any warrenty, especailly if you bought from overseas. iphones (and other items that you want a warrenty from like electrical items) should not be bought online, or if they are you should only by from a reputible Australian based business, not on Ebay.

There you go. You're sort of lucky - it seems you got a real one. Most 'iphones' sold online tend to be fakes and there is no warranty.
eBay cannot and will not reimburse you anything - their claims period is about a month after delivery. Paypal's is 6 months, but you've missed that too.
if it is worth it to you, pay for the phone to be repaired. As a matter of interest, did you pay full retail?
Otherwise buy a new phone from a reputable seller. Maybe Apple. They don't discount their phones, but their accredited resellers don't either.

Went to manufacturer, Apple said warranty is expired and it will cost me $449 to repair the phone.
If you bought from an Asian seller the phone was more than likely not new at all, but a refurbished one.

For an iphone. Says it all, really.
