Recently I purchased an item from a seller with a score of 35,483 and rating of 100% with ZERO negative feedback in the past 4 years. The whole process was a nightmare with this seller, with automated emails, incorrect item being sent and a totally frustrating experience.
It's very rare that I leave any negative feedback, especially if the seller has such a high score and 100% rating, but I had to share my experience.
The following day I recieved 2 emails. One saying that ebay has released my contact details to the seller (which I'm told is allowed) and the second email sending me my chat transcript. Interestingly, I did not have any online chat with ebay, but the transcript shows me failing the identification questions, but still being able to remove feedback which "I left in error..."
I spoke to ebay who assured me they would investigate and the feedback was reinstated 48 hours later. When I checked again, I saw there was 1 other negative feedback as well from another buyer.
Out of curiosity I checked the following day and both feedbacks were again gone, with the seller back to 100% positive and no negative feedbacks ever.
Again, I spoke to ebay and the feedback was reinstated. I looked a couple of days later and again 6 other people had left negative feedback. The following day, all of the feedback again was removed and the seller had a clean slate.
Today I reported this once again and expect the feedback reistated, but I wonder if anyone else has experienced this and what is the best way to progress because it is a worry if super-sellers who attract multiple negative feedbacks in just a couple of days can show a 100% satisfaction rating along with zero negative feedback in their history.

I think the whole issue is a big load of Carp...............................and it's wrong for sellers to be able to do it.

@papermoon.ladywrote:Recently I have seen Woolworths neg feedback disappear. However, and this is something I had never seen before, I mean wih normal sellers, some positive fb disappeared too. Both quite at the beginning, in the first week of the vouchers, then both neg ad positive fb seemed to stabilize. I wonder why. Maybe eBay removed fb because they thought it was fake (for example if it was left just after buying a voucher without waiting for it)?
Large sellers like that often start out with test listings before going full swing with sales - test listings function like any other, but they are just to enable the seller to test how everything functions with an alt account (this means they get another account to purchase, do whatever admin they need to from the seller side to get a handle on all that, and the buying account is also able to leave feedback. Some actually leave both positive and negative for themselves, for whatever reason, and that FB will often disappear or stop affecting their feedback percentage.
Positive feedback will also disappear if the account that left it is made NARU (not a registered user) within 90 days (I think) of being created.
I think it's likely a store like Woolies curry special favours from eBay, though, and that would account for at least a decent portion of the disappearing FB (one reason may be that people leave FB immediately upon purchase since it's a digital item, and if they're still selling seasonally they may not have qualified for PS status, which prevents negs / neuts from being left for at least 7 days after purchase - eBay may give them that retroactively in some cases. I know Coles wasn't a Power Seller when they ran their voucher sales, and they did get quite a few negs from buyers who couldn't work out how to use the codes. The ones that said they had to wait for much longer than stated to get the codes, or that they never got them at all, remained last time I checked). They may also give them a 'clean slate' for each promotion run, contractually.
It's interesting, really, as one of the first big sellers on eBay was Australia Post, when they introduced their eBay shipping labels - boy did the negs and neuts roll in as people relished in the opportunity to "stick it" to Aus Post as some form of payback for all the selling problems they had that were either directly or indirectly the fault of AP, but those ones seemed to stick from what I could see, and it took months for the novelty to wear off and the FB percentage to look fairly normal.
These sellers have far greater negotiating power with eBay than the average seller does, though. 😕

Well, I have honestly never seen anything like that before. Sometimes I have seen clearly unfair fb and it didn't disappear (for example about size when the size was in the original listing, but I guess it is the seller who has to ask eBay to remove fb, otherwise they won't know). I guess those who work for eBay can also have a shop, so... Not saying this is the case, maybe they just mean a lof of money for eBay, so eBay loves them.

LOL, talking about Australia Post's feedbacks got me curious and I checked ebay's shop, the official one which sells stationary with ebay's logo. Months ago when they first started they also received a lot of negative feedbacks, and yep, you guessed it, the number of negative feedbacks is now zero.

there is one neg at the ebay shop but it is more than a year ago:
Sticky tape was a bit thin / see through. Also had a weird smell
I couldnt see any others though - no revisions either.

Makes sense now they've released the "new fees for sellers that fall below standard" - see Autumn 2018 Seller Update

sellers who sell a lot get away with what ever they want.
this seller in my category has address and phone number on listings
and ebay do remove some but they relist with it all again and
no repercussions at all unless you count being rewarded with
top of best match. i suppose it was only required 6 months ago when
the rest of us lemmings were reqiured to do it.
ebay where the level playing field is on a slippery slide which is apt as
the place is runs by children.

Apparently, if your account is a business account and you have an actual B & M Store,
then it's permissable to have your details in the listing.
That store has been mentioned on the boards before.
