Why do sellers insist on using Fastway (Aramex) when they never deliver on time?

Just had a seller send me 2 items, one was sent through Auspost and the otehr with Fastway.

It is has been 3 weeks after the Auspost delivery came through and Fastway has yet to update thier tracking, and the pakcage is not delivered yet either and contacting Fastway (Aramex) is like petting a cat that has rabies...

Seller use Fastway because it is cheap....they do not care about inconveniencing their buyers.

You get what you pay for in this case.

Australia post is just as bad at the moment,  I have had parcels taking 4 weeks,  but one from fast way took 3 days.  There is a pandemic on.

Re: Why do sellers insist on using Fastway (Aramex) when they never deliver on time?

I had a purchase recently where the seller used Fastway.  It got here in the usual delayed time that Covid has caused.

HOWEVER what didn't impress me much was though the seller had included my note about safe drop (which set out where to leave the parcel - printed and highlighted on the front of the parcel in BIG letters), Fastway's driver left my parcel outside the front door for all to see ...especially as the house on that side is only 3 metres from the public footpath.

Thankfully this was a rare morning when I was up early and I noticed it through a glass panel.  But then I had to work out how to collect it.  I can no longer use the front steps because of my walking frame....and the parcel was left below them at pavement level.  Sigh.  In the end, knowing the item wasn't breakable or was too heavy I got out my walking stick (which I mostly use for levering stuff towards me) and persisted in attempting to flip the parcel over onto the first step, up to the second and then finally into the house.  My arthritic knees were locked in pain and I coudn't bend down to pick it up for quids, but I used my stick to pull it across the carpet to where I more or less fell into a chair.  After 10 mins rest I was finally able to hold it.

A weekk later a second parcel was delivered and it WAS very heavy. I had no hope of flipping that one on to the steps and into the house.  Thankfully my carer/cleaner was coming that day and was able to retrieve it for me.

Honestly, purchasing online and getting a parcel delivered shouldn't be that difficult!

As a seller (on another ID) the amount of buyers who question and complain about Postage fees - Sellers are probably doing their best to get items delivered CHEAPEST (because that is what people on ebay WANT).

What you are complaining about is a holy trinity - CHEAP, TIMELY, QUALITY SERVICE- my life expereince tells me you generally only get 2 of the 3

Sometimes they do. Mr Tippy bought an item from Melbourne recently, on a Friday, being sent to central NSW. We had a knock on the door on Monday morning, with the item, delivered by Aramax Fastway. I would have thought ex Melbourne would have caused delays regardless of what delivery service was used. Yet, they delivered very quickly. Maybe we are lucky being in a rural area that people actually care, rather than being in a big city?
