Why is it that EBay's "customer service" doesn't provide "service?

I've tried twice to give my email address to a seller because it is required by the delivering courier service. E Bay won't let me give the information. I understand the need for "security" but I'm wondering who's security - mine - the seller's or E Bay's. To my mind some of the so called "security" measures impossed come close to a restriction of trade! When I try to bring this to the attention of E Bay there is no way I can find a means of telling them. If you try to send a message it just sends you round in circles and keeps referring you back to E Bays list of questions. Seems to me that E Bay is attempting to lock in their clientele from buying else where!!!

Email addresses have never been able to be messaged in eBay.

It's to stop off eBay transactions, as many cheats try to get out of paying the fees even though the buyer found the seller on eBay.

Try something like paul at hotmail dot com.

The seller should automatically have your email when you purchased.

The seller is given the Email address in their sold Email.

If they have deleted it then they have the options below.

If the seller uses selling manager then they can go to View sales record from the drop down box in their

sold item section,(the Email address will show).

If they have the standard eBay selling page then it's not available to them,(as they will have a View order details

page which doesn't give the Email address)..

Couriers do not require an email address.....they need a phone number.

Some courier services do require an email address.

Please elucidate.

I, and obviously many, haven't heard of any.

I would certainly be interested in those that require this, so I can avoid them.

If it was an auction the email address should b visble on the bid page (unless they've removed that option, I haven't checked for ages).

Trying to disguise it doesn't always work, the bots have been trained. The only way Ive been able to do it successfully is something like: ABC ATtic CBA DOTh COMic DOTh AUnt. You can also put the email address into something like notepad or word pad, take a screenshot and add it as an attachment.
