Hello
Well this is like my 3rd ebay forum post in just a few days (good to learn from experiences)
Anyways -Today after debating long and hard and after watching an item for a week i finally decided to bid on it. I increased my max bid at the very end just incase and I Won the Auction. I was quite happy about this as it was for a voucher and i was to be saving myself $40, can't complain about that!
I had some minor hassles with my pay pal acc and was unable to pay right away so as a courtesy i messaged the seller to inform them of this, a short time afterI was finally able to pay and did so.
then a few hours later I reviieve a message requesting my bank details as they said they sold it on gumtree yesterday and forgot to cancel the auction. The price she mentioned in the email for the refund was not the price i paid So in my response I corrected them on this and told them to refund via my payment method, i also expressed my dissapointment.
I then checked my pay pal account and discovered she had actually refunded me already, but failed to let me know.
I now have to wait 3-4 Business days to get that money back
Now Ebay is notifying me that i have 1 unpaid item, which is this voucher.
Although the seller is clearly new and has no feedback, i am extremely dissapointed. When i sell stuff on ebay i commit to doing so. I don't list them elsewhere.
Just the other day I myself made a mistake with my Listing but was a lot more apologetic and to my suprise the byer still leftme postive which i was eternally greatful for.
I am a strong beleiver in feedback letting a persons feedback paint a picture of what kind of seller they are. If they are going to sell stuff on ebay whilst also having it on gumtree then i feel that buyers need to be aware that any listings they have up may be canceled.
I have advised the seller to cancel the transaction on ebay, but if that does not happen, what do i do?
I feel it be fair that ipossibly leave Neautral Feedbad
Just want to know others thoughts and opinions?
many thanks

I will take a guess and say they are telling you porkies because they didn't get the price they wanted. I wouldn't accept a cancellation request. There's not much you can do now as she has refunded you. As for the unpaid item, just ignore it and archive the transaction. The emails from eBay reminding you to pay will eventually stop.
It's up to you whether you want to let it go or reflect it in feedback.
I'm curious as to what the $7.45 postage cost was for?!?!

I had a look on Gumtree, and I think i found her Listings. there is duplicate listings, but they are both up there for $200. I paid $199.95. so who knows, maybe they are just trying to get out of ebay fees and pay pal fees.
I have received notifaction of a refund, however I have recieved no notification of a Refund Request, What happens if i refuse the request, as apose to accepting it?
I'm not too sure why postage was $7.45 either, but I always factor in postage into the overall cost before deciding to buy or not.
I am aware that the vouchers are cardboard and possibly not able to be folded to fit in a standard envelope, but who knows. I know if i was selling once i would be able to fit it in. It doesnt have to arrive pretty in my opinion.

The postage would have been 70c, unless she was sending it registered or signature on delivery. Although the listing did say standard postage. New seller, she probably went with what eBay told her to as far as postage goes.
If she's sent a refund, you don't need to do anything else. I'm not sure what you mean by a request for refund? If you're talking about a cancellation request, it's up to you whether you want to accept it or not. If you accept it, she gets her fees back. If you decline it, she loses her fees. If you ignore it, she can close it in 10 days and get her fees back. Chances are, being a new seller, she probably doesn't know about cancelling, so will end up losing a few bucks in fees.
Depending on the reason she selects for the cancellation, she may get a defect, which being a 0 feedback account, could really stuff her up. If she selects out of stock, she cops a defect, if she selects buyer changed mind, she won't.

If she knows to send a cancellation, you would receive the request regardless of which excuse she uses. It's up to you whether you accept, decline or ignore. It would just come via eBay messages into your email inbox.

Report the seller to eBay. Tell them they listed it on Gumtree at the same time as the auction was running.
It is against eBay policy to have an item listed here, advertised elsewhere too.
that might seem harsh, but it is poor form to reneg on a transaction here. They wasted your time, and shouldn't be allowed to think that it is an acceptable practice. Better luck with future bids ๐

Hi Ambs, how are ya going?
Apparently that policy for dual listing can't be found on the site map anymore.
Aside from that it's still a daft thing to do and in a lot of cases will earn the seller defects on low DSR's at least, if not a neut or a neg.

If you click on the Help & Contact link up the top of the page, and go to the Browse By Topic links on the right. Expand the reporting a member link, the click on Report a Member. Scroll right down the bottom and click the contact us button. The next screen, click on report a member again, then the report a member link, then the options for contacting should be available down the bottom. Either phone or email. A very long winded way to get there, but that was the only way I could find to get there.
