auction won - seller wont sell states error with price

I need some advice, I bought an item with "buy it now' on ebay and now the seller states there was a error with the price, states it is too low and won't sell

what are my options, I feel that the buyer should still sell, it's not my fault if the seller has listed the item with an incorrect pice

Accept the refund and buy again at the relisted price if you are happy with it.

It is obvious that the seller is not going to sell at the price you paid so move on.....no point in belting your head againt a brick wall.

That's happening to me tonight, the seller by mistake listed 2 items with low price. I have bought and paid. Then seller has found its a honest mistake. Don't know what to do next. She offered me the refund, then relist 2 items right away. What can i do now?

So you're talking about Buy-it-now, not items that you have bid on and won right!

If that's so and it's a Buy-it-now and not an auction win (Which you are entitled to have the item you won), I think it would be nice if the seller should offer a compromise with you. Maybe suggest this to seller. See how that goes.

Please stop suggesting compromises and offers to members.

It puts both the buyers and the sellers at risk of ebay deciding they are trading off ebay....they both risk being unable to correspond with other members and sellers could be suspended.

I'm not trying to do what you erroneously suggest Lyndal! In no way am I suggesting that the buyer or seller trade off of ebay nor would I want them to.  The compromise I was suggesting (Keeping in mind that if this was a Buy-It-Now and not an auyction win), was that the seller maybe list item at a certain price and possibly offer discount on shippiing

I wonder if the resident bullies are going to go  for my neck and say ...  "Where did you say that?" Just to attack me Smiley Frustrated

There are a few above board compromises that a seller can do for a customer they have inconvinienced and disappointed as a gesture of good will and Ebay still gets their cut!!~!~  And nobody needs to be a genuis to work something out!

I never said that you were suggesting off ebay trading.....just that ebay sees boogy men in every message that has any suggestion of offers, compromises or inspecting items before a purchase is made.

They accuse members of off ebay transactions even when it is the last thing on their mind and the message is completely innocent.

4channel, it's a genuine issue.

eBay monitor messages between potential buyers and sellers, and if there's anything that even vaguely could be pretzeled into looking as though a private agreement is being made - just by using words like "offer", "lower price", "compromise", "phone", "email", "address", and goodness only knows what other buzz words might be included in eBay's somewhat paranoid list of words creating suspicion of off-eBay trading - then eBay will react without mercy or second thoughts or even (so it seems) common sense.

Sellers have been sanctioned (not just warned - immediately sanctioned) even without responding to buyers whose message somehow triggers the eBay chopping block. It's possible that eBay no longer sanction sellers now after a triggering message from a buyer, as long as the seller doesn't respond in any way... but it's equally possible that eBay still DO issue those sanctions upon both buyer and seller.

Re: auction won - seller wont sell states error with price

In response to your thoughts regarding sellers not seeing the price after they do the listing, mistakes are very easy to make when doing listings. Just to scratch the surface, many sellers use 'sell similar' (to an item we already have listed or have sold, or even unsold rather than using 'relist'). Few reasons for that but when doind so, although we are then creating a new listing, the old listing details are still displayed ready to be edited/changed for the new item being listed. Once we've made the necessary changes, submit the listing and all good. I usually then go into the listing on classic view and check it over, but on occasion, particularly when listing multiple similar items, such as diecast cars or comics, you might only need to change the make and maker of the car, condition, very minor changes, but it's easier than you would think to kind of get on a roll and forget to change the listing title or forget to swap out the pictures, or change the price. I used to do listings through the night when I had a store, to free up time during the day for sourcing, photographing and pack/post, so my brain was always a little bit stewed ๐Ÿ˜
