n I received the selfie stick, the remote was broken. I contacted the seller who said she would send me another one. Today she has asked me to close the case so she can send the new remote. I am confused as to why i need to do this. Is this legitimate?

You win the internet today. You brought cake. Cake is EVERYTHING!! Please tell me that it's a RED velvet cake! One of my colleagues does awesome red velvet patty cakes. They are freaking awesome!
CAKE!!!!!!! Who doesn't love cake???? Morning tea at work tomorrow. Boss is leaving. we don't care that she's actually leaving, we care about the awesome food that gets brought in for said parties!

Well I guess I have my answer 😂 Thank you all for responding and setting me straight. She has asked for a second time for me to close the case. I'm now going to ask for a refund.

Whatever you do, do not mention feedback in your response to her, or any neutral/ neg you may leave will be removed as eBay will see it as "feedback extortion".

I think you got the message she was not legit.
Yes, tell her you want a refund.
I was actually going to suggest that. This seller has no intention of sending a replacement and if you agreed to it, she would most likely string you along, asking you to wait for it and your case would time out.
Just ask for a refund, say you do not want a replacement, you want a refund, thank you.
That puts the ball in her court. If she wants the faulty one returned, she will need to send you a postage label. You are not liable for return postage costs. Remember that.
If she does nothing, carry through with your claim.
