eBay PROTECTS ROGUE SELLER!

Okay it seems I have violated eBay's Rules by naming and shaming a Seller who RIPPED OFF FORTY SELLERS IN ONE MONTH! It seems I have violated EVERY Rule set in place to PROTECT ROGUE SELLERS... I cannot find my original Post here, so here we go again! Let's see WHAT Violations I commit this time TRYING to see IF eBay will protect THEIR Customers who keep thier Business afloat!

eBay stated that they are "Watching this rogue Seller and if he continues THEN they will take action..." WHAT THE ****???

There were 23 NEGATIVE and 17 NEUTRAL Feedback left AFTER he decided to go abroad, and on his return he has made NO ATTEMPT to contacting his Customers to replace or refund, Feedback states by many he has NOT RESPONDED to their contact attempts! And this is not enough to show he is;

A LIAR! A THEIF! AND NOT TO BE TRUSTED?????

I emailed him SEVERAL TIMES Asking where was my Case? NO REPLY!

After I left NEGATIVE Feedback;

The Seller gave me a sob story explaining he was away for an emergency and the guy he employed stuffed up, asking me to reverse the Negative Feedback and PROMISED ASAP the Case would be sent out to me Priority Post within days...

I felt sorry for him thinking maybe he was in a spot of bother; so I messaged him back to arrange to remove the Feed back, NO REPLY!

Messaged again, explaining he needed to contact me to remove the Negative Feedback; NO REPLY!

Messaged again, Copy and Pasted eBay Rules and the procedure to remove Negative Feedback; NO REPLY!

Waited until the day the Case was suppose to be here at the latest, Messaged him the NEXT Day stating it had not arrived; NO REPLY!

Messaged again to tell him he deserved the Negative Feedback, NO REPLY!

Contacted eBay believing they would have the Power to remove money from HIS Account like they DID TO ME one time, seeing as he is still actively SELLING the SAME items to OTHERS! HA! All this rubbish I read where eBay protects the buyers and rips off the Sellers is total NONSENSE!

They suggested I contact the Seller... HELLO? IS ANYBODY UP THERE??

I replied explaining; YEAH SURE! He hasn't replied to me now so WHY would HE CONTACT ME to sort this out? HE HAS MY Money as well as the money from THIRTY NONE OTHER EBAY BUYERS! WHY would he even CARE?

eBay explained that he would have MY Details as well as I would have his, being interstate will REALLY Help when he refuses to HONOUR HIS PART OF THE DEAL!

I had plans of starting an Online Business with eBay, well I now realise I am far better off staying with the Large Free Online Selling Pages and WHY they are doing so well in comparison...

It is a JOKE!

Re: eBay PROTECTS ROGUE SELLER!

*** The other Buyers also stated: "No Reply to Messages" "No Item Delivered" and so on so despite everything, the Seller just plain did NOT SEND TO HIS Customers! None of us received replies UNTIL AFTER his return...

Now; the time to leave Feedback fell AFTER the time allowed (60 Days) I left Feedback EARLY because I smelt something rotten AND I have been caught a couple of times this way before, impossible to leave Feedback AFTER the 60 Days (or whatever it is) so nothing you can do... Never received my items then (from China not oz) and never received any Feedback from the Seller.

HOW MANY other Buyers made the same mistake I made earlier and waited until it was time for the item to arrive, which just so panned to be AFTER it was possible to leave Feedback...

IMHO he KNEW WHAT he was doing... End of Story. Lesson Learnt. eBay SUCKS when it comes time to seeing what is right and what is just plain dishonest!

Dammit! Wound up!

I meant; there was FORTY Buyers who left Feedback, "HOW MANY did NOT get to leave Feedback" making my earlier mistake of waiting until the date of delivery THEN attempting to contact the Seller...

I feel the number would be higher than the 40 who left Negative and Neutral Feedback...

Re: eBay PROTECTS ROGUE SELLER!

Report the seller to Online Fraud squad using following link-3rd option down.

I've done it successfully. You will need to fill out some paperwork and have it signed by any police officer, then you post it off and let cops deal with it.

I'd do it as a matter of principle even though you said it was only $20 ? A thief is a thief.

The site is run by QLD police but covers all of Australia.

Re: eBay PROTECTS ROGUE SELLER!

I still don't understand why you transfer money from your bank account into your paypal account before paying. I have a bank account (and credit card) linked to my Paypal account,. Because I don't sell, I have $0 (zero) in my Paypal account. When I want to buy something on ebay I simply click onPaypal as my payment method and Paypal take the money from my bank account.

I still don't understand why you transfer money from your bank account into your paypal account before paying. I have a bank account (and credit card) linked to my Paypal account,. Because I don't sell, I have $0 (zero) in my Paypal account. When I want to buy something on ebay I simply click onPaypal as my payment method and Paypal take the money from my bank account.

.............................

I do not understand how this works? If I have $0.00 in my Paypal Account and try to purchase anything using my Paypal, I normally get a message stating I have insufficient Funds... I NEED to upload money to have money available...

I phoned Paypal and they explained to me; if I do not wish to wait, obtain a Debit Card to my verified Bank Account to make purchasing quicker and easier if I had unavailable funds in my Paypal Account, so I did. (I refuse to possess a Credit Card)

Problemo;

I COULD Purchase items from Sellers by using my Debit Card (like Direct Bank Transfer) but still needed to wait until the money uploaded from my Bank Account into my Paypal Account and cleared before I could use Paypal. I had assumed that using a Debit card would speed up the upload of my funds from my Bank Account to my Paypal Account but was wrong or had misunderstood what I was originally told by Paypal on the phone...

I had phoned Paypal back again, explained that I obtained a Debit Card linked to the verified Bank Account I use for my uploading of funds to Paypal (which I had to pay my Bank $4 each month to have) only to discover it was an aroundabout way of using my Bank Account to pay for the item...

Paypal told me, in no way, could I upload the money any faster to my Paypal Account via my Debit card and to use my Paypal to make purchases, I would still need to wait the normal waiting period for my funds to clear in my Paypal Account to use Paypal to make any purchases, which for me (the transfer period) is ALWAYS longer than what they state.

So I cancelled my Debit Card and stuck to;

Going to my Bank Account I use for Paypal

Transferring the Amount I wish to upload to my verified Bank Account

Going to my Paypal Account

Then uploading the money from an approved Australian Bank Account to my Paypal Account

Then I get the usual message that it will take x amount of days (then normally add another 2 or 3 working days - usually it takes around 8 to 11 days all up before I receive a notice stating the funds have cleared)

I would post a paste and copy of my last transaction uncluding dates etc but I was warned if I did another copy and paste of correspondence I would have my Post automatically deleted...

I use a verified Account and leave $1.00 in it assuming Paypal could not take more thanwhat was in my Account, last year I had an issue when Paypal removed around $10.00 or so from my Account leaving me in arrears and having to pay a Fine! I challenged the withdrawal via my Bank and Paypal, but they notified my Bank to check my Records as I owed them money, the Bank could not find anything supporting this and I do NOT know HOW I owed Paypal money? I am very wary these days after reading many horror stories of people having their Accounts cleaned out of everything they held in there and fighting a losing battle to get it back, youdo NOT need to have Funds in your Account for them to withdraw MORE than what is in your Account...

I always knew that Sellers and often Buyers could be dishonest, but I do not have a great faith in the whole anymore after my previous experiences...

Re: eBay PROTECTS ROGUE SELLER!

The reason you can't do an instant payment through Paypal is because you don't have a credit card on file.

You can link a bank account to your Paypal account but the payments would be what are called echeque payments. Basically that means that you would authorise Paypal to withdraw the funds from your bank account on your behalf. The funds are then transferred into your Paypal account which takes a few days. Once the funds have cleared into your paypal account the seller is then paid.

It would probably take about the same time as what you are doing now so from a sellers point of view they wouldn't be getting paid any quicker.

If you are comfortable doing it the way you are then I would just continue doing it that way.

Re: eBay PROTECTS ROGUE SELLER!

That seller has been discussed on the sellers forum today too. It's under the topic of "one must start to question how this is allowed".

In view of that, I'd be taking it further and reporting them outside of eBay. It's gone beyond being a rogue seller now.

Thankyou Jen that makes sense, except for the few days part, if eBay allowed me to Post the correspondence I could show that the last upload took 8 days to be notified it was ready to use in my Paypal Account, for me that is around the average time it takes, it has taken longer in the past however, and my money disappears INSTANTLY from my Bank Account when I do the transfer via Paypal...

I have read online before regards Banks etc that Direct Transfers are just that, direct, and instant! There is NO need to wait even a day, the mere fact they have taken the money from my Account and transferred to theirs is proof that the money IS/WAS THERE...

Paypal IS Playing the Money Markets investing their Customers Funds to make more money, simple as that... THAT is why it takes more than a WEEK for OUR Funds to magically appear back into OUR Paypal Account...

Re: eBay PROTECTS ROGUE SELLER!

If you have a bank account with a VISA debit card attached it will act as a credit card and your payment will be instant to the seller.

Please try and understand what you are being told as the way you are transferring the funds into your paypal account is painfully slow and likely to give you more problems in the future.

The VISA debit card gives you similar buyer protection to a credit card if a paypal claim goes wrong.

Re: eBay PROTECTS ROGUE SELLER!

I understand, but after a lifetime of living in debt to plastic and finally escaping the clutches, I refuse to use ATM's or possess anything remotely related to Credit or a Plastic Card... I am poisoned by it... I refuse to even hold a Debit Card these days and Bank via a Bank Book over the Counter with the odd Online Transfer (due to my Disabilities where it is very hard for me to walk most days).

I have lived and grown with the technology around me for the past 53 years, and have grown to dislike it, maybe I am just growing old and grumpy, so I am going back to a more simple way of life. Happily; within a few months, I am going to live in a 3rd World country in a small Bamboo and Palm Leaf Hut, away from Television, away from the Internet, away from technology, away from the aggravation, living a a very basic simple life...

Honestly; I believe nothing will come of eBay in regards to this, it is not that they are a Toothless Tiger, they are the almighty Tiger busy raking in the almighty Dollar, albeit at times, as some would deem; by dishonest means if necessary, so they could not care less about the little guy when the bigger entity will keep raking in the profits for them, honest or otherwise.

I think it is time I walked away and put this one to bed.

You win eBay!
