feedback

Just wodering what sort of feedback I should leave a seller for tardy postage and blatant lies.I paid for an item on the 16th with an eta of 21/28th.after several emails the product arrived today the 30th,postmarked the 28th at 10.41 and when I asked the seller why it took so long to send it, they said it was a reship as I had not received the first shipment. The thing is I had not sent an email until 13.27 on the 28th stating I had not received the item so it could not possibly be a reshipment of my item.So I am wodering what other buyers would do regarding feedback

Re: feedback

IMO the seller sent his purchase to the wrong buyer, who then informed him of his mistake

therefore making it a re-ship.    I have done this myself when packing multitudes of items

on the one day.    Which is what the seller was doing if you look at feedback given. He told

the buyer what he did (re-shipped)  so he didn't lie

Re: feedback

So, the morning of the 28th, the seller finds out that they sent the item to the wrong person, sends the item to the OP.

Later that day, they receive a message from the OP informing them they had not received their package.

Considering that the OP didn't understand why the package they received was postmarked the 28th and then sent a message to the seller enquiring why, it can be reasonably presumed that when they messaged the seller on the 28th, their reply - if any - said nothing about the circumstances which required a re-shipment, and it was only the response to the inquiry after the item was receieved that gained the "re-ship" explanation.

Even if that's true, still unimpressed by the seller's lack of courtesy.

Re: feedback

I did ask the seller a few questions it did not show as being posted on ebay,he said we dont mark ebay when sent, too many parcels to do that tracking says in transit, there was no tracking number on my side of ebay. Then he said "that was the 2nd shipment I asked them to reship as you didnt receive the first one",posted three hours before i had said i had not received it,so yes he may have his wires crossed or something, but somehow I feel he was making a fool of me instead of just telling it like it happened

Re: feedback

Like I said, the guy was run off his feet, could've had personal problems, who knows?

But when he stuffed up, he fixed it asap. You got your item. IMO he didn't lie.

If you feel that strongly about it, mark him low stars,  but its certainly not a neg or neutral

Re: feedback

after looking at his DSR's and feedback, I am with digi on this one.

This does indicate he isn't the fastest poster in the world, soooooo, it's not like this is a one off first time "mistke" even if there was a mistakeon tis occasion.

For me, he gets a positive if the product is as described etc, but maybe he could do with a little bit of encouragement to improve his shipping times and communication a bit. Not too harsh though. I don't think that it's something worth trashing him over. he just might need some prompting to look at ways to improve his operating procedures.

His handling time does say "usually within 2 days", and he did kinda miss that by a fair bit. And judging by his DSR's etc as they are now, it could be an area for him to look at before a very unreasonable buyer just hits the red dots and low DSR's and does trash his business.

and yes, I'd be miffed at the "lie", but also give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't intentionally lie, just got some orders confused, so I wouldn't mention anything about that.

Re: feedback

eeeeeekkkkk

easy on anything under a 3 eh? they can really affect a seller's ratings with eBay, not just his customers, and I don't think he deserves that - I'd reserve the 2's for really bad - I was kind of hinting at 4's maybe 3's...... there is way worse out there than what he has done.

but that is just me, ok?

It's your feedback and it is your reflection and interpretation of the transaction.

Okay, I have a different take on this.

The seller posted it at 10.41am on 28th Oct.

In other words, (now this is the important bit) he posted it BEFORE you made a query about it. Now he has told a bit of a fib about reshipping to try to cover himself but basically what it comes down to is he did send the item off on his own bat, without a prod.

So even without you sending any of your later emails, you would still have received that item exactly when you did.

I would look at it this way. You got the item within 2 weeks of paying.

The seller sent it before you emailed any reminder, so he had honest intentions. He told a lie but it didn't change the outcome so not worth getting your knickers in a knot about it at this stage.

If you are happy with the item and it matches the description, why not give the seller positive feedback. Give the star ratings though according to what  the seller deserves. For item matching the description, that may be 5 stars, for postage time, that may be only 3 stars or however you feel. Then in written feedback you could write something like ' item was great but it wasn't posted out to me till 12 days after I paid.' Or however you want to word it. But it does deserve a mention.

There are plenty of worse sellers around so if you do get an item, as described, in a couple of weeks, that seller deserves a positive in my book.
