Hi all,
i've bought a couple of items from a seller who states having posted them on 6th Dec (australia, should take no longer than 5 days at the most), and they are still not received and she has no tracking number for it. i thought some sort of tracking number was required, is that correct? i only very rarely sell things but when i do, i always send registered or tracked post, so i'm not sure...
what's the rule here?
thanks heaps for you advice
Happy Ebaying and Merry Christmas to everyone!

oh and i forgot to say: these 2 items were from an ebay shop with buy-it-now, in case it makes a difference.

I would be putting in an INR and get a refund and if the items do eventually turn up then you could refund the money back to the seller. This time of the year posting is slow,I posted an item to Northern Territory nearly 3 weeks ago and the recipient hasn't received it yet and I posted it registered postage.

hi
first off its only been 9 working day
cause weekend dont count and if post friday it might not registered till monday
depending where they posted from and where you are for delivery
and that aust post has been going at a snail pace for months
and then all the christmas rush for posting
not really surprised its not their as yet
and some closures coming up for aust post
i say give it a bit more time then if not arrived do dispute you have 45 days to lodge as item not recieved if u payed by paypal.
and yes sellers should send by trackable means, but alot dont so postage is cheaper and they sell more
up to you what you want to do
PS:im still waiting for items posted nsw to nsw and its been 4 + working days from several sellers
so i know it could be a while longer as well LOL

As a ball park figure I allow 12 to 15 business days for domestic and 15 to 20 for overseas delivery before asking if there is any tracking, some sellers don't bother entering it, and if no response with a valid tracking number I open the dispute then I will usually give it another week before escalating to a claim.

If it was the two items of clothing you purchased the seller is based in North Queensland so even without the Christmas rush, depending on where you are located, regular post could take longer 5 days.
Postage in and out of Qld has been notoriously slow this year with lots of complaints about how long AP is taking to deliver parcels.
