I bought an item tonight on eBay worth approx $550 it was a Computer Part.
However after I had clicked buy it now and made payment via PayPal I noticed a short time after the exact same item was listed again by the same seller with the exact same picture and item description.
I have msg the seller asking what is going on but have not yet heard a reply.
What steps should I take further to protect myself?
The user has over 300 feedback and member since 2008 howeve only 1 feedback as a seller and no feedback within the last 12 months, thanks

I think Lane ends is right.
It isn't impossible for someone to have multiples of a new product but I would think it would be unusual to have second hand items that were all identical, all used exactly the same time etc. Sounds extremely suss to me.
I was also under the impression sellers were supposed to use photos of the actual product when selling used items.
I would be suspicious about this transaction because you haven't heard back & the account has suddenly sprung into action after a year, but as others have said, if you paid via paypal you should be covered and able to get your money back if it doesn't work out.

That is very true and coupled with oe or more of the other concerns, account not used for a long time, multiples of second hand items, used for one month etc I would be very concerned.
Not a lot you can do if you have paid, just have to wait and see what you get. If it is a straight foreward item not received dispute problem you can open a dispute with either ebay or Paypal, I would use Paypal but for not as described I would probably open an ebay claim if it turns out to be counterfeit. If that does happen come back here for the best advice on how to proceed.

thanks for the replies,
I will take them into consideration
on a sidenote: the seller as relisted another GTX980 graphics card BUT in the item description it now says "GTX970"
using the same photo and item name as the one I bought which stated it was used for a month playing csgo,
This is VERY VERY ODD.
thanks

C'mon all right...
Companies do go bust and or update their pc's and id say maybe the seller bought a whole pile of pc's for parts from such an event.. I have bought loads of used ram, graphics cards, motherboards etc myself for a 3rd of the new price and the same sellers had loads of the same listing and i never questioned this and never had a problem.

Have you even bothered to read and digest all the posts.
This seller has been dormant for a year and has only ever sold
a pretty pair of christmas earrings for $5.99
And now they're selling computer video cards, Intel processors
and Grand Theft Auto Game- about 4 of each in the last 3 days.
Nice tidy sum. That's roughly 2 1/2 grand's worth
No alarm bells for you then?

Looks like eBay have removed all his items from sale. Does this mean he has been caught or he is flagged?

Normally if ebay has pulled them up as suss anyone in atransaction with them is advised to hold. perhaps contact Ebay and ask whats up?
