item re listed again exact same details

I bought an item tonight on eBay worth approx $550 it was a Computer Part.
However after I had clicked buy it now and made payment via PayPal I noticed a short time after the exact same item was listed again by the same seller with the exact same picture and item description.

I have msg the seller asking what is going on but have not yet heard a reply.
What steps should I take further to protect myself?

The user has over 300 feedback and member since 2008 howeve only 1 feedback as a seller and no feedback within the last 12 months, thanks

I reported them as a hijacked acount yesterday,(I had to go out so didn't have time to reply to this thread).

Op,you should be able to reclaim your Paypal payment or it might bounce back to your account.

If not, then you need to contact eBay or report that it was a hijacked account via Live Help:

http://ocsnext.ebay.com.au/ocs/cusr?query=1485

Watch out for phishing Email that will try and get you to log into fake eBay and Paypal accounts,(it's how the

account would've been hijacked in the first place),stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

This item

GTX980Ti 6GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI 3xDisplayPort[GV-N980TD5-6GD] that you puchased on 21st June is ALSO a fraudulent listing for a non existant item.

Log on to Paypal and see if you can cancel your payment. If you can't, open a Dispute immediately and escalate to a claim as soon as the system allows.

As go-tazz has advised , beware of phishing emails and be sure to change your passwords and run your spyware, keylogging and virus protection regularly.

Hello,

I rang eBay today and they told me that I have to wait untill the 30th June and IF my item does not arrive then they can esclate it further and put in a dispute/claim.

Not happy with this answer

I called PayPal, who also stated that I must wait to the 28th June for my item to arrive and THEN make a claim and wait the 10 days for the seller to defend themselves.

Still not happy with this I explained that the seller has made no contact with me in over 60+ hours and several messages, and the seller has not advised that the ITEM has been sent or provided a tracking number, I also explained that eBay has advised me NOT to contact them because they appear to be a hijacked account AND eBay have removed ALL the users listinngs.

after explaining this the PayPal lady said If I want I can open a dispute now and the seller must defend themselves or prove shipment within 10 days otherwise they will provide me with a refund.

Does this sound like normal procedure?

That could be how it's processed now as they would need to do all their "checks".

Although with hijacked accounts the money is generally returned quickly as the listings have been removed

so there is no transaction.

Maybe ring PP and ask to speak to a supervisor and explain it to them.

I'm not sure if you noticed ( my apologies if you did) but the fraudulent listing  I mentioned in my previous post

GTX980Ti 6GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI 3xDisplayPort[GV-N980TD5-6GD]

was NOT purchased from the AU hijacked account.

You purchased it from a Chinese Seller with 5 feedback.

That item was reported, removed by ebay and the selling ID is no longer registered.

Have you received an email from ebay about that $199 item ?

Have you logged on to Paypal  to see if you can cancel that payment ?

Yes I rang eBay about this chinese seller who's account is no longer registered, they told me that there still might be a chance that the item could arrive and to wait untill 20th of JULY. EVEN after I said to eBay that I literally cannot even make contact with the buyer as there account is no longer registered..

I wasn't happy with this answer, I called PayPal who have put in a despute, the seller has 10 days to prove shipment or defend themselves and after 10 days I should receive a refund,

I cannot see any cancel payment when logging into my paypal account.

However this is a different issue to the Aussie seller who my inital post is reffering to.
