seller being difficult

Just wanted to come on here to warn everyone to not get on a seller's bad side. This seller was triggered by me cancelling my bid (due to finding the product cheaper elsewhere), and proceeded to verbally harrass me.

I then proceeded to APOLOGISE and PAY for said product. He has since ignored me. I paid for the product on the 12th of April, the estimated delivery was latest TODAY and it still hasnt been posted (its a domestic delivery mind you).

Still no response from him. I have reported his account and his pathetic language. Literally a thief that is trying to steal my money, all over a lego set… pathetic.

(for anyone who wants to pin this one on me, below are screenshots of his messages to me:))

Re: seller being difficult

OP, everyone here wants you to either receive the item or be refunded. That’s only right.

Both you and the seller didn’t handle the situation well, and I agree that the seller directly called you an idiot etc more times than you called him a moron. But there are more ways of being insulting than using such terms.

I think you’ve agreed that you precipitated the issue. Had the seller been waiting for payment for a few days? That would probably have got him upset before a word was spoken. It’s true you said you were sorry and paid… but the tone at that time could have been mistaken as sarcastic or possibly passive-aggressive. I could see a petulant teenager picking a fight and refusing to do her chores, and then without warning flinging out snarkily, “Okay, I’m sorry, are you happy now?”

But you did pay, and had I been the seller. I’d have replied simply “Thank you for your payment. Item will be posted [date]. Regards, [name].”

No use in beating a dead horse. One thing is certain: you will be refunded if the item doesn’t arrive.

(eBay CS staff truly will not tell you what specific action is taken against another member. They probably said that sellers who don’t send items do get some sort of sanction –but they’ll never tell you if, how long, or what. That would be a breach of privacy.)

I have been in constant contact with them and they have directly said that they will give him a strike for his language and a ban should he not respond by the 24th of April. So yeah, there is a way. Its not a few dollars, its nearly 100, they’re taking it seriously.

Bwahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣

You're obviously a very "special" person if you actually believe the C&P rubbish which is designed for only one purpose - to get you off the line.

Again, there is absolutely no possible way for you to know what action eBay have or will take. The person you spoke with is nothing more than a trained monkey who would more than likely have no idea at all about any of eBay's procedures or policies... and don't forget that in a very, very, very high percentage of cases, the trained monkey gives incorrect information and/or advice. They're experts in telling you what they think you want to hear... that's what they're employed to do.

But, hey, you're free to believe fairytales if that's your thing - whatever works for you.

Re: seller being difficult

Luckily, every person reading here knows better

And why would they give the seller a strike for their language and not the OP?

And a ban for not responding when the MBG is there, if the buyer chooses to use it

Honestly though

Re: seller being difficult

this all happened literally in the span of a few hours, i cancelled it, then if not immediately after i was messaged. I was sincere in all of my languages and not once was i sarcastic, and the payment went through so how could I have not been sincere about it? I gave a sincere apology followed by payment. As for ebays correspondance thats on them, im simply relaying what was said, but my issue is that it shouldnt be acceptable for a seller to treat a customer this way after ive apologised and paid.

Re: seller being difficult

It's not ok for anyone to ever carry on like you have, but we're all glad you shared. It's not every day you see numpties posting here just asking to be blocked.

Based on your extreme rudeness, lack of respect for anyone, and blatant disregard for eBay policies, I'm sure you now feature on quite a few lists.

Kudos to you. Congratulations on such a stellar effort.

i think everyone here is completely skipping over the part where i literally apologised for cancelling and paid for the product, the fixation on me cancelling initially is wild, i apologised and PAID. This guy is literally withholding a product I paid for, he is in the wrong not me

No one is skipping it. How many times do you need to be told you can open a claim for a refund?

You were even given a link.

Re: seller being difficult

“Brev” is a new one one to me… but I’ve googled it and now understand it’s another form of “bruv” (derived from “brother”) and in Australia it is used as a term of ironic hostility.

Re strike:

If the buyer still hasn't paid 4 calendar days after the listing ended, you can cancel the order by selecting the Cancel order button below and choosing Buyer hasn't paid in the drop down menu.

Buyers must pay for the items they purchase on eBay within 4 calendar days.

If the buyer doesn't pay within this timeframe, the seller can cancel the order and an unpaid cancellation will be recorded on the buyer's account.

[…]

Failure to pay for items is a violation of our Abusive buyer policy.

When a seller cancels an order because the buyer hasn't paid, the unpaid cancellation is recorded on the buyer's account. Buyers who have excessive unpaid cancellations may have limits imposed by a seller or by eBay, or lose their buying privileges.

1. I understand this, hence me APOLOGISING and then PAYING for the product.

2. Yes. I agree.

3. Dont care

4. i only called him a moron ONCE after he called me an idiot, muppet, spastic and stupid.

5. I want the product I paid for but I am not going to do business with someone who is this immature, I have reported him to eBay, and unlike everyone here defending him, they have given him a strike for his language and lodged a ban on his account should he not resolve the issues

Ebay is not a social forum, it is a business site.

There are rules and guidelines and structures as to how it operates.

And a lot of processes are automated.

You need to understand that no one (including ebay) is particularly interested in exactly who threw more insults than the other. It's not a contest.

But swearing and abuse can be cause to report to ebay.

You are far too focused on your social interaction with kyle and not enough on your transaction.

Okay, so you apologised. Doesn't matter.

If you don't like kyle, don't buy from him again.

All ebay cares about is having processes in place about payment and also about receipt of items in the expected time frame.

You've paid, you don't need to contact kyle any more. If you have not received your item or a refund and the delivery date has passed, you need to make a claim through ebay and you'll be refunded. You've been told that over and over. We can't do it for you though.
