advise  would be appreciated please

i bought a box set of dvd's

seller sent them with tracking but not sign on delivery  the tracking say's it was delivered but i have not received it ,

it looks like it was just left at my door or even went to the wrong address

if it was left at my door anyone walking past could see it ,theres nowhere to hide it

ebay have knocked back my claim i have a claim in with ppal now but when i rang the girl said because it says delivered i will not get

my $73.50 back

i dont know what else if anything i can do to get my money back

i think the seller should have sent with signature required ( i do for anything $50 or over ) so i was silly and did not think to check that

they would send in the safest way possable so have i lost my $73 ??

well as i was afraid of ppal have rejected my claim

got to be honest and say im blinking annoyed !!

i have only ever had to claim for a couple of very small $ items over the years ( except twice when i was silly and bought 2 x gift cards

from different sellers both were shonky sellers and they never arrived ppal refunded me streight away and the sellers dissapeared )

i always thought i would get ripped off eventualy from a buyer because of these new MBG rules but it ended up being the other way

around ( please remember i am NOT blaming the seller )

i am feeling let down by ppal they carry on about seller AND buyer protection but have not protected me from loosing $73.50

i think that they have proof in there records that im not claiming "did not receive" all the time !!

anyway i think i will phone and ask to speak to a superviser but blimey im annoyed ( would love to know who ended up with my box set)

if you do find out who ended up with you box set take them to court for stealing as they would of seen its not their name or address on the parcel.

tracking says delivered but i did not receive

just got off the phone to ppal

got no help there i spoke to a superviser and all he would keep saying was it had tracking so no i will not get my money back

i asked him to check my record he said he had all the info he needed and no refund

so thank you very much ppal Woman Sad

i do realise that they cant just pay out everyone that says 'i didnt get it "

but i was hoping they would see that i had been using ppal for a lot of years and look at the case on a more one to one basis instead of a set rule but no , might as well have been talking to a computer

thank you everyone for your help and advise i will leave it now and just put it down to bad luck

I lost a similar amount this year, so I understand your frustration. I heard the parcel get dropped at my front door. Within seconds, I heard footsteps and as I was expecting multiple parcels, I thought the delivery driver was bringing another one. I got out of bed a couple of minutes later, went to the door, my parcel was gone. The footsteps I heard was a thief that came in straight after the delivery man had walked out.

I didn't attempt to even make a claim. I had paid for regular post, but the seller posted it express out of his own pocket. Even though he didn't upload a tracking number, I knew it had tracking on it because it was sent express. The seller had done nothing wrong. In fact, he went above and beyond. I didn't want him to be out of pocket because of some low life thief helping themselves. So, I chalked it up to bad luck.

I kept an eye on the local buy swap and sell sites because I figured whoever took it would have no use for the contents, but nothing ever came up. To say I was angry was an understatement!

tippy i think that is what has happened with mine because my door is very visable to the street

and how easy would it be to just whip up a 6ft path and just grab and gone in a few seconds

the thief could even just follow the van round and get a few freebies Woman Sad

i dont think they should ever just so called "safe drop" cards should always be left theres not many homes with someone home all day!!!

plus it takes me so long to get out of bed and to the door they would have plenty of time to help themseves

this has made me think also if aus post are calling it "safe drop" shouldnt they be accountable when its not ????????

im cranky as hell about it !!!!

I have had a Safe Drop agreement with Australia Post for many years.   It is only used if I do not answer the door.  The parcels are left in a waterproof container out of sight of the street which is far safer than just being left at the door which is in full view of the street.

When you sign a Safe Drop agreement you are taking full responsibility for the items and cannot make a claim on AP if the items disappear.

lyndal   im a bit confused i did not sign anything saying yes to safe drop

does that mean they should not have safe droped ( and how they can claim its "safe" on houses like mine is beyond me theres no where to hide it )

aus post just dont care if its safe or not it seems as long as they get rid of it asap

your arrangement sounds good but what happens if its a different delivery person that doesn't know about your arrangement ?

i dont get the same delivery person every time ( mostly it is but i sopose she has sick days and holidays )

A lot of postmen and contractors are safe dropping parcels these day without the Safe Drop agreement.

Mine has been in force for over 10 years now and is on file with AP.....any new contractor should know about it.

My contractor tells me when he is going on holidays and also if he has told his replacement about the safe drop box.....I have never had a problem although sometimes the parcels have been dropped at the door instead of the correct place.

As I live in a very quiet street it is not really a problem.
