What does it indicate if the seller does not reply to one's questions about a product? I have posted several questions although two after the sale went through but get no response.

Well you don't know and the seller should have stated the time frame in their listing and if you saw that there was no posting times in their listing then you should have asked up front before buying as I mentioned in my previous post.

In My Ebay, there is a little summary thingy which shows if you have paid for a purchase and if you have been given or have left feedback. There is also a spot for the seller to mark when they have posted it.
I get really irritated (well, a little bit, anyway) with sellers who don't bother to mark it. I don't worry too much if the item arrives fairly quickly anyway, no harm done. But when it isn't marked, you start to wonder how organised the seller is and if it has indeed been posted, no matter what it says in the ad about a time frame.
As regards questions after a sale, I have sometimes asked sellers things eg do you sell more of that colour ribbon in other widths at all or what time would you like me to pick it up etc
So sellers probably do need to be able to answer after sales questions, within reason.
My ribbon seller was helpful and I was able to get some items that she had not previously had listed, just because I asked.

No time to ask questions when you want that bargain off the
page before someone else sees it!
How do you think some people re-stock? lol

How are you supposed to know if they don't bluddy tell you in the listing?
A seller can't submit a listing without setting a handling time, but unfortunately I've noticed lately that the handling time is not always displayed in the postage and payments tab.
If you click on the Postage and Payments tab, underneath the postage service used, it may (or may not) have a section stating domestic handling time, and if it does it will say Will usually post within X business days of receiving cleared payment.
If that doesn't appear, the only guide to handling time is in eBay's estimated delivery dates - interstate they add 4+ business days to the handling time to arrive at the estimated date, same state they add 1+ business days (for standard AP services, anyway).

Nope. Checked everywhere. No handling time listed. He says Ebay
assume its 3 days and that they insist on it for stars etc. He's just full
of it.
With a lack of info, the Ebay estimated posting date just kept
getting further and further away. That's why I messaged him

They still would have had to set one - handling time doesn't appear in the P&P tab of my listings, but they're all set with 2 business days and that's refleted in the ETA.
eBay certainly don't insist on 3 days, but they make it clear anything more than that is not recommened, in fact in the listing, when you get to that section, they have a ? that says "This is the number of days it will take you to post the item after receiving cleared payment. Buyers like to get their items fast, so set a handling time between 1 and 3 days" and 4+ days is an "exception" handling time, shown in some sections of eBay as "not normal" (or words to that effect).

This is what is in the listing in my purchase history:
On or before Thu. 16 Jan
Does that look like a 3 day turnaround if payment was made on the 2nd Jan?
(edit: sorry it took so long for me to get back)

That's the date that you can expect the postal service to deliver your item after the seller has posted it within 3 days it doesn't mean that you will receive it in 3 days,it's a 9-11 days estimate.

Could be, depends on where you and the seller are located (definitely 3-day handling time if they're in the same state and using Aus Post).
That ETA is based on today's date. Any time you look at a listing, the ETA is calculated according to if you bought and paid for it then and there, so it will always change after purchase while the listing is active, or if ended it will just say something like X-X days after payment rather than give a specific date range.

Ebay's ETA will always adjust the delivery time, that I know. But it
always annoys me when sellers don't mark it as posted. I always do.
Sometimes they never get marked even when I've received them.
They do themselves a disservice though, cos I give them low stars
for communication. Haha.
Anyway, he's finally marked it as posted! Wonder if it made the 6pm
deadline?
