what to do if you find a 'bidding' suspicious

im currently bidding on an item. and im finding that im being outbid within a mile second.... it seems very quick to be outbid by exactly 10 or 20cents more even before the page fully loads.
And ive looked at the bidders and they all have names like (eg. a***a) should I be concerned if im bidding in a 'shill bidding' and should I report it?
I really want this item >_< lol heellppp??

All it means is that someone who bid before you has put in a considerably higher maximum bid - which means that each time you increase your bid  theirs will automatically be raised to one increment above yours, unless or until you place a bid that outstrips their maximum.

If you really want this item the best thing you can do is enter the maximum you are prepared to pay and hope that nobody else has entered a higher one.

All bidder IDs appear as you have described, yours will be similarly to any other bidder.

ditto to the above or you can wait and just snipe it at the end  by placing your maximum amount

Re: what to do if you find a 'bidding' suspicious

When I want an item, I just enter my maximum amount and forget about it.

At the end of the day, you can snipe but it doesn't really matter if you're not prepared to go over a certain amount.

If you bid early and win, great. If not, and you're outbid, than someone was willing to pay more than you were anyway.

Doesn’t expecting the unexpected make the unexpected expected?

Firstly, everyone's bid shows as y*****H etc except for your as you are logged in. If you were to log out and look at it again you would see that even yours shows as the same anonymous bidding name.

Secondly, you are not being out bid in a millisecond, someone has placed a higher bid and ebays proxy bidding system is increasing their bid 1 bid increment over your amount each time. It will continue to do that until a) the auctions ends, b) no one else bids, c) you bid higher than the others persons bid amount.

The bid increment amount will increase as the value of the item increases.

You can read about it all here - http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/buy/proxy-bidding.html & http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/buy/bid-increments.html

Re: what to do if you find a 'bidding' suspicious

Just checked your bidding and all of them look fine.

All id's are different and the prices are not at the moment increasing in large enough increments

 to cause concern.
