why doesnt ebay have a filter that allows you to only show business that have provided abn as a sellers? This would lower the burden on buyers that are businesses that require tax invoices for purchases.

Why would a registered business be shopping on eBay?

Any real business would have contracts with suppliers in the real world.

Maybe brush up on your tax law - if you don't get a Tax Invoice you can still claim the cost as an expense. Ultimately no real difference. What you lose on the GST rebate, you gain on the lower income tax.

EBay has an abn and is the selling agent so the eBay invoice should be enough. If the seller is not a business there won’t be gst anyway so it’s a moot point. You can still claim back the full amount spent as a business expense
