Looking for help with this crystal bowl

Hi all, 

I have been asked to sell this crystal bowl. It has been handed down in a family for number of generations. That is all of the information that I have about it. 

I suspect it's lead crystal as it's very heavy. It has a zig zag edge. (Is that the correct way to describe it?) Any other help with the pattern description would also be greatly appreciated. 

It's about 9 cm high at its highest point and the diameter is approx 21 cm, (outside rim to outside rim).

It comes with 6 small bowls. This what they look like

Meek - there are a couple of sites - Auction Houses - who do free valuations - or used to - haven't needed one for a while.

Try - Sotherbys - Lawsons - Christies.

Search - valuations - they are always lookng for sales - photos can be sent.

Have you checked very carefully for ' markings '.

Yes. Don't know whether to sell it as a set or break it up.

Thanks dom, yes I was wondering if there were any around that I could access. No marking at all that I can see.

It's not what I'd call a salad set, but then I'm not very au fait with these sorts of things. 😞

Looks to me like something one would serve a dessert.

With the side bowls - strawberries & cream etc - not sure trifle etc was around in those days.

 I wouldn't be splitting the set until more is known.

Yes, something like fruit or dessert seems more appropriate, but who knows?

I've spent a couple hours googling around again and have joined a couple of online evaluation sites, so if anything constructive comes back I'll let you know. In the meantime, I guess I just keep googling. 😀
