it looks japanese from the foot of the bowl, the colour and the gilding too, as does the item in the first post. nice @ unusual..

The first i did think Japanese,the second i'm unsure as you dont tend to see pieces marked like this that are Japanese.
The cup/saucer are very good quality!

To me this looks English; shape and decoration remind me of E Radford. Perhaps produced to look similar? 1940's 1950's ? Just guessing

so, whats its use bsal ? from the stopper or plug, i'd guess you put hot water in to soften something in the tray. or ice/cold water to keep something cool.

Its a spoon warmer. An ice-cream spooner warmer actually.
