why do ebay constantly promote the sale of illegal weapons. this is one of many sellers (mostly from china) selling the above prohibited weapon contravening Weapons Prohibition Act 1998 NSW. The proliferation of offenders found on our streets wearing similar weapons has exploded since ebay started allowing these items to be sold.

Re: Ebay allowing prohbited weapons

some time back, pre-COVID, I used to go to the Mildura Magistrates Court on Wednesdays to watch cases.  I was interested to see court proceedings.

One day, a young lady was up on a 'possession of a prohibited weapon' charge.

She had been in court a month earlier on another matter.  When she went through the security check her bag was scanned, and showed a 'credit card knife'.

She was charged on the spot.  Her explanation, when appearing before the Magistrate, was that a friend had bought some online and handed them around to friends.  She put hers in her bag and never gave it another thought.  It just made its way into the bowels of her bag and was never used.

That mistake cost her a criminal record, a community order, and a $700 fine.  All this over something that cost someone just a few dollars.

These credit card knives are still available on eBay (I am not posting to publicise them so members will buy them).

If you are reading this > DONT BUY THEM.
